Rationale
Sindun Maride ES annually conducts In-Service Training
(INSET) in the school. For the last years, the SMES centered its
INSET on Writing Research, the utilization of ICT in teaching and
learning, and School-based Management. This year, the school
targets on Enriching teachers’ competence as instructional
managers where the primary concern of the Department emanates
– in the CLASSROOM.

Division-wide monitoring of the Curriculum Implementation

Division (CID) in terms of instructional supervision reveals that
most teachers employ invariable teaching strategies and
approaches which may be unfavorable in ensuring and maximizing
quality education. Further, based on Teachers’ Strengths and
Needs Analysis (TSNA) and reports on Training Needs submitted
by teachers, there is a high clamor for workshops on innovative
effective teaching stratagems. Thus, Sindun Maride Elementary
School conceptualized a Capacity Building on Pedagogies and
Child-centered Teaching Strategies. As an INSET activity anchored
on the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), said
capacity building is three-day training facilitated by the school
heads and will be participate by all teachers in the school. It is
lecture-workshop in nature with exemplar DLL’s and
demonstration teaching in the different learning areas as its final
