The design approach involves adopting a C-shaped plan that embraces a semi-
circular shaped park, thereby integrating the park with interior spaces by
bringing nature indoors. These internal spaces interweave to create a symbiotic
relationship with the outdoors. The visual relationship between functions are
enhanced by the tiered terraces and outdoor spaces along the vertical façade
of the building.
The three major design strategies are: effective amalgamation of varied functions within
a self-contained setting; a one-stop development where people can work, live and play;
and the integration of the landscaped Central Park. (comprising more than 15% of the
site, within the built environment)
The Neo-SoHo mixed-use development is later developed as an integrated expansion and
continuation of the Central Park experience.
The relationship of these new programmes with the existing Central Park is key to the
development’s design. The plan is shaped as a dynamic vortex to express and facilitate
human movement from both Central Park and adjacent residences, continuing the
elliptical form established by Central Park; the concept of a fluid ‘green loop’ unifies the
two projects physically and visually.
