EXERCISE YOUR MIND

Reflect on why Rizal highlighted the story of the moth in the last chapter of his
Memorias. What was the message intended by Rizal through this story? Is the moral of
the story still applicable for today’s generation? What does the light symbolize?

The last chapter of his Memorias was all about the message to always listen to the
elders and people who have authority because the have more experience than to us.
Next is to be always strong and be fearless in facing challenges in life and events that
may come. Always remember that pain is worth it which makes us to be stronger at to
avoid being hopeless and that dying for the country is worth if the people of the country
achieve freedom at the end.
This message of Jose Rizal creates big impact for the lives of the Filipinos and for
the future generations. As what I have understand, He wants us to be brave and
become stronger as time goes by. Always look for the futures good and fight for
freedom not only in reality but also in our minds. Avoid negativity and think positive
always. His message is not only for the elders but also for the youth which he thinks the
futures hope. And for me, it is true that we as the youth of our country should be the one
to start making progress and contribute knowledge and skills for the country`s
development and growth for us not to be always slaves from other country.
