INSTRUCTION:
1. Each group is required to plan and conduct HALF/ONE (1) day community
service at any desired location according to the selected area. (subject to the
faculty’s approval) * Virtual option is also considered due to CMCO.
2. The project should be based on the area/category in community service. Please
choose ONE (1):
 Urban poor
 Wellness
 Environment
 Orphanage
 Orang Asli
3. Date of Project: WEEK 12/13/14 (depending on the class size, availability)
4. Photos must be taken during the day of the project & must be attach in the report
(pre, while and post photos)
5. Report must be submitted ONE (1) week after the project/event.
6. Mode: Group (20-25 members in one group, depending on the class size)

COURSE OUTCOME(S):
CLO3 Organise community service project to increase interpersonal and leadership

responsibilities through active participation with the community. (A4, PLO8)

PART 1 (10%)
PROJECT (preparation)
 The students need to conduct ONE (1) day community service project/event
at MSU.
 The assessment will be based on their preparation (progression) of the
project/event and the execution of the project/event during the actual day.
 Some suggestions:
o Donate stuffed animals to children in hospitals.
o Organize a reading program to encourage kids to read.
o Take care of cats and dogs at an animal shelter/zoo.
o Clean up a local park.
o Participate in the cleanup of a local river, pond, or lake.
o Make "care kits" with shampoo, toothbrushes, combs, etc. to donate to urban
poor families/relevant organizations.
o Prepare a home-cooked meal for the residents of a nearby homeless shelter
or orphanage.
o Help repair, paint, and decorate a local orphanage.

PART 2 (20%)
PROJECT (the implementation)
 The students need to conduct HALF/ONE (1) day community service
project/event.
 The assessment will be based on the execution of the project/event during the
actual day.
 The whole group will segregate duties by forming identified relevant
committees. Leaders will be appointed followed by a list of committee
members conclude through class discussion.
 The student’s participation, commitment and attitude will be observed by the
subject lecturer throughout the event.
 Student’s individual participation will also be assessed by their peers (their
own committee/group) based on each student’s performance towards and
during the execution of major project. Each student will be graded individually
using peer evaluation form of 20 marks. (lecturer will collect the peer
evaluation form on the day of the event/project).

PART 2 (10%)
REPORT WRITING (post-event) (1 REPORT PER GROUP)
 WRITE A REPORT which includes the following:
1. Date, Time, name of project, venue
2. Team members (organizational chart, roles, and responsibilities of
each member)
3. Introduction (What the project is about?)
4. Objective(s) of the project
5. Body of report
- Preparation before project
- Activity conducted during the day of the project
- How this project is beneficial for the future
- Degree of impact on the community
6. Conclusion
7. Appendix (pictures, handouts, receipts etc.)
