1 GENERAL

 Prepare the purpose

The purpose of this Method Statement is to establish and to outline the rules to be applied
as safety methods of construction works to be carried out during night shift. It consists of
the installation of formworks, installation and preparation of steel reinf
culverts concrete pouring, precast manhole concrete pouring and piling works.

2 WORK METHODOLOGY

2.1 General

The concrete works shall be carried out fully in compliance with the Project Specifications

2.2 Night Construction works Safety Measures.

works. Liaison with site management is to be continuous to avoid any such problems.

The safety measures to take into account for night shifts includes the following contents:

 All night construction personnel must wear protective equipment in accordance with
the requirements of the project department.

 Use of proper lighting for best visibility.

Night construction must be equipped with
lamps and lanterns to meet the construction needs.

 Before the start of night construction, day shift personnel shoul

handover with night construction personnel.

 No night construction is allowed in heavy rain, fog, and strong wind.

 Before night construction, the debris must be cleaned. Avoid safety accidents.

 Safety measures for Piling Works

1. Guardrail shall be set around the pile hole, and obvious signs shall be made to prevent site
personnel from falling into the hole, and miscellaneous personnel shall not allow to ent
the construction area;

2. During drilling, non relevant personnel shall not be too close to the drilling rig to prevent
mechanical injury.

3. There should be enough lighting in the construction area at night. When the construction is
suspended, the pile hole must be sealed with a cover plate. If necessary, obvious warning
signs shall be set up.

4. Warning tapes and safety signs must be installed around the drilling fluid pit and pile hole.
After the hole is formed, the hole which does not carry out the next pr
