Introduction

Many of us rely on cup of hot coffee or caffeinated drinks every morning to keep us

throughout the day. Caffeine is a stimulant that causes you to increase your concentration,

increase metabolism and boost mood. Caffeine can be found in coffee, tea, energy drink and

soda, caffeine is important for some people to increase their alertness and have motivation to

work. More than 90% of adult in United States drink caffeine regularly consuming an average of

200 mg of caffeine per day, this is equal to 12-ounce of soft drinks. Drinking caffeinated drink is

actually safe, non-harmful but drinking too much is indicated that you are addicted.

Health is must be prioritize to prevent illnesses, abusing your body is not good. Taking too

much product that causes addiction, risking your self may lead to some serious health

problems. Living healthy lifestyle can prevent chronic disease and long-term illness. Maintaining

healthy lifestyle is important to your self-esteem and self-image.

Background of the study

Caffeine is popular among adults and sometimes younger, caffeine is used as a drug

worldwide as a stimulant to become alert during morning. However, Caffeine addiction is a

excessive use of caffeine intake for a long period of time, negative effects on your health may

experience, and this is very alarming.

Caffeine has good benefits such as improving mood, decrease the likelihood of

depression, stimulate brain function and protect against Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's
Disease. "Having a right amount of coffee a day, keep illness away!". But people abusing

caffeine and became obsessed with it. Actually, caffeine didn't provide nutritional value on it's

own. Even some medications may contain caffeine without your knowledge.

Drinking minimum cups coffee is not bad, being addicted to it is not good. Caffeine is

stimulant and reaches your brain, excessive use of it causes drowsiness, headaches and

migraines. But many people consider it as health drink because it prevent some chronic disease,

but like some other food, indulging causes side effects.

Objective and method

This study use quantitative method to analyze numberal data from collected data, and

create an hypotheses what would be the results of the study This study shall employ the use of

convenience sampling, it is the easiest method of sampling, because participants are selected

based on their availability and willingness to take part. Useful results can be obtained, but

results are prone to significant bias, because those who choose not to (volunteer bais), and the

sample may not be representative of the other characteristics, such as age or sex (PHAST 2020).

Since the study is intended to ascertain the implications of caffeine takers, the researchers

chose to do the research to participants since the current situation nowadays is the new

normal.

The population of the study will be 100 coffee drinker or caffeine user, which virtually of

them are social media users will be used respondents.


According to Population Proportion Sample Size Calculator, the suggested population for

the students must be 70 percent to get the reliable result.

Data Processing and Statistical Treatment

The researchers used the questionnaire in gathering data from the respondents. Copies

of questionnaires, state in English used to interview caffeine user. The data gathered were

arranged using quantitative method and expressed by Narration. Afterwards, the researchers

arranged the questions and results of the observation of respondents. The statistical treatment

that the researchers chosen was the Narrative Analysis. The researchers will narrate the

statements of the respondents.
