1.) What strategies or methodologies does the author use in the article? The methodology or strategy the author used in the article was the qualitative research. 2.) Which of the arguments was most persuasive? Why? The most persuasive arguments for me in this article are the forum of opinions on the question of whether yõga or nihonga was better positioned to serve the Japanese nation as "national painting" because it tackles the imperative issues for the National painting in 1932. 3.) Which was the least persuasive? Why? For me it was the "Will a splendid and refined nihonga have sufficient worth in the future to attract supporters and compete with seiyõga or not?" Because for me art is not a competition. 4.) Are there any important issues regarding the topic that are not covered by this article, but that you would write about if you were addressing this topic? By reading the article I have learned some things about the Western, National and Global painting of Japan. And I must say that they tackle the important issues of the topic. 5.) What original contribution does the article make to the discussion about the topic? The contribution of this article for me is that I have learned about that there is this called Yōga and Nihonga, the two styles of artistic paintings in Japan.
