1. SCOPE & PURPOSE

This procedure is to guide and the sequences and requirements of various compressor
installation in Mobile Power Plant and Fixed Type Gas Engine Power Plant Package
IV (Fixed Power Plant).
2. REFERENCE
2.1. Document Contract Book III Part 4 Technical Requirements Section 4.5
Mechanical Works Subsection 4.5.6 – Compressed Air.
2.2. Installation Instruction from Compressor Manufacturer.
2.3. Compressed Air System piping refer to ASME B31.1
2.4. Grouting Procedure.

3. DESCRIPTION OF ERECTION WORK PROCEDURES

3.1. Pre Installation Check
1. Check of manufacture equipment drawing and installation manual book that
supplied by vendor.
2. All the compressor will be checked in the place of storage to ensure that it is
in good condition, and not damaged. If any damage or defects are found, it
shall be reported to Client before transport to location.
3. Check the foundation as per the drawing dimensions by surveyor. Mark
centre line on the foundation.
4. Check the anchor bolts for correct location and straightness with respect to
the equipment.
5. The surface of the foundation to be cleaned all dirt, oil, and any loose
materials and roughened by chipping with brush hammer.
6. Check and measure compressor dimension in pump installation drawing ;
check the equipment instruction manual book supplied by Vendor.
7. The padding plate to be set just beside the anchor bolts within 6 mm of the
anchor bolt, except where the bolt is mounted in a sleeve, then the plates
shall be placed as close as to the bolts as possible.

8. All the shims/padding plate are in contact with the concrete base shall be
seated in the grout area to ensure the solid positioning of shims prior to
setting the equipment in place. (if require).
9. Check the elevation of padding the plate by surveyor and correct it, if needed
before installation of equipment.
10. Remove all protective coatings, crating and packing of equipment at the time
of assembly. Remove protective coating by using approved solvents to
protect the surface of equipment.
11. The coverings of the equipment nozzles shall remain kept closed until the
time of piping connections to be made.
3.2. Positioning of Equipment
1. No burning, cutting or welding is permitted to the equipment unless approved
by Client or Vendor recomendation
2. Wire ropes shall not used in the pump surfaces for lift or move of equipment
purpose
3. Lying of equipment could be used sling belt, shackle and crane or another
lifting equipment such as forklift to lift compressor in a right foundation
direction within use lifting lug that already install in manufacture.
4. Leveling shall be done with padding plates and shims to the correct location
and elevation given by QC.
5. Once the equipment base has been set in correct location and elevation and
approved, the anchor bolt boxes can be grouted with approved grout
materials.
6. Lying compressor within centerline of foundation and direction that alreday
mark by QC, there would be some tolerance between equipment and
foundation ± 10mm. (based on required instruction manual).
3.3. Alignment and Adjustment
1. The primary drives compressor and primary equipment that already a whole
package of compressor are mounted on the common base plate. The primary

levelling shall be done with surveying or use level gauges and adjust for
some miss alignment of equipment using shims.
2. The final tightening of anchor bolts can be done if the primary equipment
and base plate is levelled within 0.4mm per meter when measured
longitudinally, transversally, and diagonally.
3. The base grouting shall be done at this stage with approved grouting
material.
4. Before the grouting in place, recheck the concrete surface to ensure that it is
free from dirt, oil, grease, or any loose materials.
5. The surface to be grouted shall be saturated with water for at least 24 hours
in advance. Any free standing water must be removed before placing the
grout.
6. Before start-up motor inspect carefully sees straight rotate direct of pump and
motor rotate plate, while motor connect to power judge the rotation, if rotate
is fault please correct it.

4. OTHER INSTALLATION
4.1. Install the suction pipe discharge pipe and other connections. The pipe support
of suction and discharge must be completed before final alignment.
4.2. Check visual for grounding installation or cathode installation.

5. FINAL INSPECTION
5.1 The final inspection of installation are do line check drawing from manufacture
by actual condition all of pipe accessories should right direction and installation.
If found something wrong installation, please contact/ confirm to vendor.
5.2 Please make sure that all of the pipe gasket and thightness of bolt already thighten
in pipeline of compressor.
5.3 Direction equipment of compressor, additional equipment and also equipment
accessories should be right position as approval installation plant drawing.
