METHOD STATEMENT

INSTALLATION METHODOLOGY OF HANGER AND


SUPPORT FOR EXPOSED CONDUITS
(ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS SYSTEM)

1. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this statement is to detail the step by step procedure on the installation of
hanger and support for exposed conduits.

2. LABOR FORCE

2.1 Organization, Responsibilities and Supervision

The following staff will be directly involved in the execution of the works.

2 Construction Makes direction of field activities and prepares all

construction details and other attachments.
3 QA/QC Electrical The one who conduct inspection during construction such as
Inspector dimensional check, arrangement, alignment, elevation and
confirm that the workmanship of performance will meet the
specified quality.
4 Safety Officer Developing and administering a project emergency plan.
Ensure that all manpower have been screened accordingly
to Safety criteria and that they have in place an acceptable
Safety and Health Program and that they adhere to it.
5 Foreman Responsible for monitoring the progress of a project and
ensure that the workers are qualified and knowledgeable
about their roles and assigned according to skills test.
2.2 Work Force

The following categories of workmen shall be engaged at each designated area. All
personnel should be trained, safety oriented and provide necessary documents to be
checked by safety officers prior to start of works.

3. CONSTRUCTION SAFETY & EQUIPMENT

1. For site preparation, the assigned Safety Officer supervise the area/location if it is ready to
conduct installation activity.
2. If the area was cleared and secured, prepare all the needed safety materials.
3. Provide Portable Fire Extinguisher if LPG gas tank needed.
4. For higher areas or floor, the area must have also safety rope lifelines or safety barriers
around on it.
5. Prior to installation and lay-out the presence of Safety Officer must be present on site.

5. SITE PREPARATION

1. Secure the area where the area for installation activity must be free from any falling objects
and any obstructions.
2. Prepare all needed tools and materials.
3. Cleaning, clearing and checking of exact location on site.
4. Prepare the approved plans and mark all the location.

6. WORK METHODOLOGY

1. Prior to hanger and support installation make sure that the ceiling and wall finished.
2. Installation of hanger and support shall be coordinated with architectural trades and other
trade contractors.
3. All installation shall be in accordance with the approved shopdrawing.
4. Check the location if there were no conflicts with other system.
5. Mark the ceiling where to be place the grip anchor and after marking get the Hilti Drill and
drill the marked location.
6. Place the grip anchor inside the drilled portion of the ceiling and get ball hammer and punch
the center of the grip anchor to lock the expansion plug.
7. Use the nylon string in order to have a straight layout on the location of the grip anchor.
8. Measure and cut the galvanized full threaded rod with its proper diameter to be used and its
length.
9. Place the galvanized full threaded rod on the grip anchor by using vise grip.
10. Measure and cut the unistrut channel to be use and place it in the installed threaded rod and
fix it with flat washer and hexagonal nut.
11. After installation of all the support now place the conduits and firmly fix it with unistrut
clamp or hanger clamp.

7. QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE

1. The assigned QA/QC Engineers have the responsibility of checking all approved materials
delivered on site to be use for the installation.
2. Ensure that all permits are secured prior to start of activity.
3. Ensure all materials delivered on site must be first inspected and tested before commencing of
activities.
4. Ensure that proper work requests were forwarded to client for their information. Inspect the
adjustment and plumbness after installation.
5. After installation their must be an internal inspection with General Contractor Inspection
Team before the endorsement for final inspection with owner’s representative.
