MY RESUME Spring 2016 Twinkle Progression

Ms. Aria is a fourth generation musician who started Suzuki violin

at the age of two with her grandmother, Sonnhild F. Kitts, a
pioneer Suzuki teacher who studied with Dr. Suzuki in the 1960s.
Ms. Aria has a Master of Music degree in Suzuki Pedagogy from
Northern Arizona University, where she was the Graduate
Assistant as well as the Assistant Coordinator to the NAU
Community Music and Dance Academy Suzuki Strings program
from 2009-2011. In addition to Long-Term Suzuki Training in
Books 1-10, Ms. Aria completed Unit 1 and Unit 2 Teacher
Training in Music Mind Games with Michiko Yurko and has a
Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Florida.

Professionally, Ms. Aria was a violinist with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra from 2009-2015 and now performs with the
Central Oregon Symphony and Bend Chamber Orchestra. Most recently Ms. Aria was the Choir and Strings Director at BASIS
Flagstaff where she taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade choir as well as strings classes to grades 6-12. She has over ten years of
experience teaching Suzuki lessons privately and in a group setting and over eight years teaching within the public school
system. As of September 2015 Ms. Aria relocated to Bend, Oregon with her family. She hopes to bring her passion of music
education to the families of Bend and grow a Suzuki studio that offers individual lessons, group classes, semester recitals and
community performances.
