Evidence: Speak your mind

In this evidence, you have to write a composition expressing to what extend you agree or disagree
with the statements below. Make use of the critical thinking strategies you learned in previous
levels.

1. A political system is optimal not because it produces the policies that you prefer. It
produces the policies that much smarter people prefer.

I agree since I believe that for a policy system to be efficient it must meet purposes that
benefit everyone, not just one person, people who decide for everyone seek a common
good. It is not about fulfilling my own good, something that I prefer just because I like it,
but something that is fair.

2. The ideal system depends on the cultural attributes of the population

I consider that the ideal system does not depend only on the cultural attributes of a
population but will depend on how well the proposals that they want to implement are
developed.Following the culture is not always the best one should take risks and bring
new proposals.

3. Individuals should be admitted to schools and hired for jobs based on their ability

If I consider that people should be admitted according to the abilities they present, of
course I agree that we should all be accepted no matter how we are that we all deserve
fair treatment, but I believe that a person who spent 5 or more years studying and got a
university degree deserves a position with respect to what I study and they should not
only hire people with less studies just to pay them a lower value than they should.

4. Unlike the private sector, the government is motivated by public interest.

I neither agree nor disagree, since if the government takes great care of low-income
citizens, they provide them with many benefits, but this also makes people get used to
only giving them and not doing themselves to get things.
The private sector also offers benefits since it makes offers are entities that also generate
employment in a certain way they are also helping citizens.

5. Taxes allow the government to create jobs and provide welfare programs for people in
need.
I believe that we should pay taxes all, not only the people with better comforts, of course,
all of them at a fair price according to the income they receive since many times people
who do not need the aid benefit from it, taking away the opportunity to someone who
really does it required.
6. Governmental programs encourage people to become dependent and lazy instead of
inspiring them to become hard-working and independent.

If I consider that government programs create, it is lazy for people since they have their
market insurance, their food their solidarity help and it makes them not work but always
want the things given away. I do not agree that everything is given for free, there should
be some work in exchange for receiving these benefits.
