I. Rationale

Countless innovations are being made with various smartphones in the


world. And because of these innovations, the consumers patronize variety of
brands of smart phones. Thus, leading to the high expectancy of having great
income in this market. As the sales for smartphones are expected to increase,
thus the competition in the market has become more dynamic and excessive.

In the Philippines, use of smartphones is rapidly increasing over the next


few years, as cheaper domestic or non-domestic models become available and
the demand for Internet service rises. The increasing innovation to mobile
phones today have brought obsession among the people. Irrespective to the
high price, still the demand is increasing. The convergence of many
smartphone brands are causing confusion among customers to what particular
brand to select or purchase.

According to the research study “Factors Affecting Customers’ Preference


on Purchasing Mobile Phones” (Cabico, et al., 2018), which focused on the
purchasing of mobile phones in Naga City, Features and Specifications were
the main factors that they consider in choosing their particular brand of phone.
With this information, the group would like to create infographics and other
visual presentations about Technological Awareness Seminar specifically in
the aspect of smart phones. These visuals are expected to help consumers in
purchasing the brand of smart phone that will suite their preferences.

II. Objectives
Generally, the ABM-C Group 3 intends to increase familiarity with the
characteristics of a wise consumer in considering the brand of his/her smart
phone.

Specifically, the activity proponents have the following objectives:

1. To establish awareness to all the Grade 7 students about the characteristics


of a wise consumer that everyone should possess in buying or choosing a
particular brand/model of mobile phones.
2. To improve the information dissemination process in regards with the
awareness of the students in distinguishing the brand and model of phone
that will suit their preferences.
