Essay #5: Filipino Citizenship Values

As Filipino Citizens we are enriched with different values that have been passed down

from generation to generation up until this modern day and values that we inherit must be

learned as a fundamental aspect of our lives as it helps us to progress ourselves and the

communities that we live in. The values presented to the stories can affect our actions by

strengthening the values presented to us within us. For example, it can also help us with our life

in the future so that we will not have any regrets in our life. Also, the stories show some of the

core values of us Filipinos, it is basically both the common and expected values that we should

abide by everyday of our life. Such as, we treat our environment with care and create laws to

further preserve the resources it provides us every day because we know that the environment

has been a big help for the evolution of the world in the past years. Additionally, we become

more aware of the social customs around us and make changes to how we do and perceive things

to be accepted or welcomed by the people around us without creating a misunderstand or

offenses towards other people with different values. The stories also helps us reflect with our

actions in the past so that we won’t be repeating the same mistakes twice
