Week 10-11 Activity

1. Filipino Traits and Values Question: Are these Filipino traits present in us by nature, or
by choice?

In my own opinion, we acquire these unique traits on our culture by nature and it seems
to have an effect on how we develop over time. Our unique behaviors and characteristics
seem ingrained in our culture. As time passes by and as we grow old, it is in our choice if
we will keep these traits and values, we acquired in the environment we are awakened.
There are some negative Filipino traits we accustomed, it is our decision or choice if we
want to remove or forget those traits.

2. Filipino Markers Question: Which among these Filipino markers would you surely pass
down to your children in the future? Which would you not teach as much?

In the near future, I will surely introduce the National Heroes of our country to my kids.
Their courage and determination in the past should not be forgotten. These great heroes
can set as an inspiration to my future children. We should share our task to continue the
cause they had started. They can be the source of inspiration for
the better of being a law-abiding citizen.

I’m not a superstitious person and I will not surely raise my children superstitious. It is
important to teach every child that superstitions, and the behaviors they often evoke, are
not the key factors in life’s successes and failures. I don’t want my future children to
believe in things they don’t have a control.
Discuss how being a Filipino affects yourself.
Being a Filipino affects me in some aspects. Being born in this country plays a huge part on who
am I today. Being a Filipino distinguishes us from others; we are born with a rich culture and
tradition imbued in our Filipino blood. From the day we begin contributing to the society we live
in; we have been raised in a certain way. My lifestyle and my preferences are the most affected
ones. Being a Filipino is seen as a blessing in my life. It gives me strength and motivation to
keep moving forward, even when life is difficult. Because I'm proud to be a Filipino, I respect
my culture and nationality. We definitely know how to smile and laugh despite our problems.
How can becoming a better Filipino influence your duty to become a better version of
yourself?

When you attempt to be a better Filipino, it constantly influences you to become a better version
of yourself; the two are practically linked. People all across the world can only do excellent
things when they try to develop themselves, with a few exceptions. It promotes a positive view
on life, which spreads to the majority of society and, hopefully, the entire country. The argument
is that if a person makes a conscious effort to act morally, he will become a better person and, as
a result, a better Filipino.
