NHCS Summer Learning

● Provide students with high quality face to face summer learning


opportunities
● Mitigate the impact of lost academic and social emotional learning
opportunities
● Fulfill the requirements of HB 82
○ 150 instructional hours/30 days of instruction
○ Targeting students at-risk for not meeting grade level expectations
○ Providing fun, positive environment with enrichment to counteract negative impact
○ Physical activity and enrichment activities are required

Summer Ignite
Summer Ignite is a 6-week summer learning Year-round will operate on a 5 day week schedule
program designed for incoming K-12th grade from June 15th- July 2nd and September 20th -
students. October 1st.

Traditional calendar schools will operate on a 4 Program hours are 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Restart Schools will operate on a 5 day week Free lunch and breakfast for all students.

Elementary School Based Learning

Program
Prior grade level instruction + previewing...
All eligible students from across the
district are invited, programs may be ● K-5 ELA with Fundations and RF = 120 min per day
held at 8 elementary school sites.
● K-5 Math Instruction with Eureka = 60 min per day
School Social Workers will work with ● K-5 Science Instruction with Mystery Science = 60 min
students and families to re-engage per day
students with the school community.
● SEL Instruction with Harmony = 30 min per day
School nurse and mental health
services will also be provided. ● Art/PE = 30 min per day

● Project-based Learning = 90 min per day (Site-based

*Exception: Students on the Extended Content Standards will


follow a daily schedule consistent with their typical IEP
