Sub: Distribution of work of Director/B&S/CB-II.

The work distribution among various Directors have been issued vide letter
No. CBS/SO dated 19.07.2016. Consequent on promotion and transfer of
Shri Praveen Khorana, Director/B&S/CB-II, the work of Director/B&S/CB-II is
proposed to be looked after by Director/B&S/CB-I and Director/B&S/UTHS as
under:

Director/B&S/CB-I:

Standard design of bridge substructure and foundations including well

foundation, RCC slabs, RCC box culverts, Limited Height Subway, RCC hume
pipes.

Director/B&S/UTHS:

(i) Pipeline crossings, Rail Structure Interaction (RSI), Inspection of

substructure & RCC superstructures with I&T unit, Bridge substructure
and foundation code revision/updation. Manual on design and construction
of well and pile foundation revision/updation.

(ii) Co-ordination with CWC, IMD & MOST for analysis of hydro-metrological
data and finalization of flood Estimation Reports for various
zones/subzones, Manual of Railway Affecting Works revision/updation,
collection of gauging/scour data from Zonal Railways, Inspection of gauging
sites, validation studies of flood Estimation Reports for various sub-zones,
other flood related issues, DBR of important bridges.

(iii) Administrative: Imprest, Xeroxing, PCDO of Structures Unit, Civil,

Electrical & Telecom Maintenance works.

(iv) Projects:
(a) Use of Remote Sensing and GIS technique in flood estimation:
(IIT/Roorkee and ISRO).
(b) Scour Monitoring: (IIT/Kharagpur)

Affecting Works, collection of gauging/scour data from Zonal Railways, Inspection of
gauging sites, validation studies of Flood Estimation Reports for various sub-zones,
other flood related issues, DBR of important bridges etc.

Administrative:

 Civil, Electrical & Telecom maintenance works of B&S Directorate.

Project:

 Use of Remote Sensing and GIS in flood estimation with IIT/Roorkee and ISRO.

Director/B&S/CB-I is proposed to be looked after by Director/B&S/CB-II and
Director/B&S/UTHS as under:

Director/B&S/CB-II:

In addition to his works, DBS/CB-II will look after the works pertaining to Analysis of arch
bridges, Arch Bridge Code and Administrative work of ISO.

Director/B&S/UTHS:

In addition to his works, DBS/UTHS will look after the technical works of standard design of
PSC slab and girders, concrete bridge code, launching techniques, inspection of PSC
bridges with I&T unit, Temperature Project with Osmania University and Administrative
work of Library and Rajbhasha.
