1. A 6.6X1O^4 car travelling with a speed of 30kph strikes an
obstruction and is brought to rest in 0.10s. What is the average force?

2. How far does an automobile move while its speed increases uniformly
from 15 mph to a 45mph in 10s?
3. How long does a bicycle with an acceleration of 2.6246 ft/s^2 take
to go from 4 to 12 m/s?
4. A car accelerates uniformly from a standstill to 60mph in 4s. What is
its acceleration? How far does it travel during this time?
5. An airplane lands on a carrier deck at 10 mph and is brought to a
stop uniformly, by an arresting device, in 500 ft. Find the acceleration
and the time required to stop? Ans. 48.4 ft/s^2 and 4.55s
6. A boy lets go of a tree limb and fall freely. What is his speed at the
end of 0.5s? How far does the fall during this time?
7. The ball is thrown upward with an initial speed of 80 ft/s. a) How high
does it go? b) what is its speed at the end of 3s? c) how high is it at
that time? Ans. 100ft, 96ft and -16 ft/s
8. Calculate the KE in J of a car driving 60mph and the weight of the car
is 1500kg.
9. A car starts from rest with an acceleration of 78.74016 in/s^2. What
is its velocity after it has gone 200m? Ans. 28 m/s
10. A car travels 17600 yd to city A in 2h, then travel 200 mi to city B in
10800, what is the average speed of the car for the trip in mph?
11. A cannon can make a maximum angle 30Deg with the horizon. What
is the maximum speed of a cannon ball if it must clear a 10m high
obstacle? Ans. 28 m/s
12. A projectile was launched upward from a level fround at an angle
60Deg with the horizontal. It has an initial of 45 m/s. How long will it
take before the projectile hits the ground?

the angular velocity of the wheel in rpm?
17. The flywheel of an automobile acquires a speed of 2000rpm in 45s.
Find its angular acceleration. Assume uniform motion. Ans. 4.65
rad/s^2
18. The angular velocity of a flywheel decreases uniformly from 1000 to
400 rpm in 5s. How many more second are required for the wheel to
come at rest?
19. A compact disc is rotating at 50rpm. If it takes 10 complete
revolutions before slowing to stop, how fast is it deceleration in
rad/sec^2? Ans. 0.218 rad/s^2
20. A flywheel 1.2m in diameter accelerates uniformly from rest to
200rpm in 20s. How many revolutions does the flywheel make in
attaining its speed?
