Little Red Riding Hood
T
here was a young girl know as Little Red Riding Hood,
because she always wore a cape made of lovely red
velvet that her grandmother gave her.
One day her grandmother fell ill. Little Red Riding Hood’s
mother asked her to take Grandma some soup to make
her feel better. As Little Red Riding Hood walked through
the woods, she stopped to pick her grandmother some
flowers. A wolf appeared and asked her where she
was going. The wolf was so polite that Little Red Riding
Hood told him she was on her way to her grandmother’s
home. The wolf thought about how lovely it would be to
gobble her up. They said goodbye and as the wolf went
off into the forest.
The wolf ran straight to grandmother’s house and
knocked on the door. When Grandma opened the door
he swallowed her up in one mouthful. He put on her
nightie and climbed into bed. When Little Red Riding Hood

“Grandma, what a big teeth you
have!”
“All the better to eat you with!”
And in one leap, the wolf was out of the bed and had
gobbled Little Red Riding Hood up. He was tired from
his feast and so he fell fast asleep. A little while later,
a hunter was passing by grandma’s cottage on his way
home. He heard loud snoring and thought, he best go
in and check on Grandma. As soon as he entered the
cottage, he realised that the old lady wasn’t an old lady
at all, but a wolf.
The hunter was worried that the wolf had eaten
Grandma so he grabbed a pair of scissors and snipped
open the wolf’s tummy. Out popped Little Red Riding Hood
and Grandma. They filled up the wolf’s tummy with rocks
and sewed it closed.
After that, the wolf could never catch children or old
ladies by surprise anymore, and Little Red Riding Hood did
not stray from the path through the woods ever again.
