IELTS Writing Task 1 – Pie Chart

The pie charts give information about some sources from which Germans and Nigerians first
look for the news weekly.

As can be seen in the pie chart, one of the most prominent feature is that while more than two-
fifths of the Germans read newspaper to get information, in Nigeria, the figure is over a tenth, at
13%. It is apparent that approximately 30% of people in German viewing TV news, while it is
doubled in Nigeria at about 63%.

Another major difference is that listening to the news on the radio is preferred by over twice
people in Nigeria than in German. The figures are 22% and 10%, respectively. Similarly, 11% of
those in German selected Internet to access the news, which is exactly a tenth more than that of
Nigeria.

Clearly, there is a high level of TV use in Nigeria which means that other methods are used less
in comparison with German.
