Abstract:
The purpose of this practical was to analyze technical package of a pant. The technical information
is obtained from a document known as tech pack. The information provided in the technical
package was observed. The details included the garment descriptions such as color combination
details, trim details, fabric and trim placement, construction details. These descriptions and
information are then used to develop BOM (Bill of Material). All the information in the tech pack
was listed.

1. Introduction

1.1. Objectives
● To develop BOM of Denim trouser

1.2. Theory
What is tech pack
Tech pack (also known as a technical pack) is a comprehensive set of illustrations and
documents containing every detail needed to produce a garment. It serves as the blueprint
of the design. It enables the designer to communicate with the garment maker so they are
able to translate what was once the sketch of an idea into reality. It contains very specific
details that can include
● Raw materials
● Grading
● Seams
● Colorways
● Measurements,
● Brand standards
● Accessories
● Drawings
● Trim
● Labels
● Brand standard etc.

A detailed tech pack will help the manufacturer to have a clear understanding about how
to make the specific item of clothing. It ensures that the goods are made precisely as
designed, in the correct quantity and time it is needed.
Bill of materials (BOM):
The BOM includes everything that needs to be bought to put the garment together. At a
minimum you must include the main fabric and any additional fabrics. For fabric, describe
the yarn, knit structure, weave structure, weight, Pantone color, finish and width. In
addition to fabric, list things like lining, piping, ribbons, shoulder pads, neck tape, thread,
buttons, labels, hang tags, hang tag thread, hang tag pins, tissue, poly-bags and desiccant
bags. Be as detailed as possible to make sure nothing is overlooked.

Technical Package Applications

● For Sam calculation
● For product development Sampling, Bill of Material (BOM), Cut part detail, material
required etc.
● To be used in production file.
● At the marketing stage for order confirmation and preparation of Job Order Sheet
(JOS)

2. Equipment and material:

● Tech pack of a denim trouser

3. Method
We analyzed a tech pack of denim trouser and study it thoroughly and noticed the different types
of components present in it. The required information is gathered. The material was analyzed
which is used for making the denim trouser. All the details and information were analyzed and
BOM was made.

In this practical All the material details which were required in order to assist in development of
bill of material were observed and listed from a tech pack of a denim trouser and we concluded
that a tech pack is a document which contains all the information about article (like what
accessories it will have, what will be the total cost and how the garment will manufacture) and
helps manufacturer to manufacture that article
