Choir Room Procedures

AND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.) WHAT IS THE POTTY POLICY?

Oh crap! I have to use the restroom during choir class. What do I do?

If it's urgent, please write a pass on a sticky note or scratch paper w/ your full name, the date, the time, & a spot for me to sign. Then,

in between songs/activities politely ask me to sign your pass & off you go.

If it's an emergency, please write a pass but don't wait for me to be done teaching a song or activity before asking me to sign.

When possible, please use the restroom before or after class.

2.) WHY DOES A STUDENT THROW PIE AT MR. HAWKINS'?

Maybe it was a student who fundraised the most? Maybe it was a student who auditioned for honor choir? Maybe it

was a student who went out of their way to lead by example or kindly help others every rehearsal?

During the last week of school students who earn raffle tickets throughout the year for being caught doing good
or going outside their comfort zones to make a positive impact have the chance to win the Pie Hawkins in the Face

Contest!

3.) ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES TO GET MORE INVOLVED OR TO

SERVE IN CLASSROOM LEADERSHIP?
Yes!  We need a classroom-printer copy-expert, iPad cleaner/plugger-inner-er, student morale officer (makes

class b-day cards for students w/upcoming b-days), student team-building/party-games comer-up-with-er,

attendance-aid, passer-out-er-er, music tutors, a class timekeeper-er, and other fun, leadership jobs we

come up with together!

4.) WHAT DO I DO IF MISS REHEARSAL?

Choose a class buddy right now who you can ask what you missed if you're absent. Ask me before or

after class, if your buddy is gone, what you missed.

It's your responsibility & duty to your choir team to practice what we learned if you were gone.

5.) WHAT DO I DO IF I DON'T HAVE INTERNET ACCESS AT HOME BUT I NEED IT TO CATCH UP ON EM?

Do EarMaster in the school library,  before or after school, during flex time, during lunch on a borrowed mobile device, go to a
public library after school, use the internet at a friend/family member's home with parent permission, find free wi-fi (e.g. Burger
King) nearby, or contribute to the installation of internet at home by mowing lawns, doing odd jobs, etc. Lower income housing

internet plans are as low as $5/month! Visit https://goo.gl/owUeyf for more info.
