Series of 2021

REQUESTING DPWH TO RECONSTRUCT THE EXISTING CULVERT OF BARANGAY SAN

ISIDRO, SAN FERNANDO, CEBU AND CHANGE INTO A BIG ONE THAT CAN
ACCOMMODATE THE VOLUME OF THE WATER COMING FROM THE BLOCKED CREEK
DUE TO THE CONTINUOUS HEAVY RAIN OF BARANGAY SAN ISIDRO, SAN FERNANDO,
CEBU, TO EXCAVATE THE BLOCKED CREEK AND FOLLOW UP THE 50 MILLION FOR CREEK
RESTORATION PROVIDED FROM THE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE TO THE BARANGAY SAN
ISIDRO AS PER INFORMATION RECEIVED LAST 2017.

WHEREAS, last December 26, 2020 there was a continuous heavy rain and the volume of
the water came from the blocked creek and again the water overflowed to the residence
who live along the national highway of barangay San Isidro, San Fernando, Cebu;

WHEREAS, it caused many damages and causing danger to life like some of the
perimeter fence where the volume of the water flows were collapsed and it needs
immediate attention and action to prevent further damage to properties;

WHEREAS, it has noticed that the blocked creek is now shallow and it needs to excavate;

WHEREAS, during the deliberation the body agreed to replace the existing culvert and
change a big one that accommodate the volume of the water especially during heavy
rain and to excavate the shallow blocked creek;

WHEREAS, last 2017 at the LDC meeting of the sanguniang barangay of San Fernando,
Cebu, the engineer from DPWH informed the punong barangay of San Isidro regarding
the financial assistance given from the President’s Office to barangay San Isidro for creek
restoration worth 50 million pesos and the said amount was loaded by the president’s
office to the DPWH;

WHEREAS, since the punong barangay is already at the old age he forgot who was that
engineer came from the DPWH who delivered the information, thus, the barangay council
is now follow up the said financial assistance and who is the right person to inquire
with the said concern;

WHEREAS, herewith attached is the picture taken during the disaster;

THEREFORE, on mass motion and duly seconded by the same;

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved to request DPWH to reconstruct the existing culvert

of barangay San Isidro into a big one that can accommodate the volume of the water
coming from the blocked creek due to the continuous heavy rain of barangay San Isidro,
San Fernando, Cebu, to excavate the blocked creek and follow up the 50 million for creek
restoration provided from the President’s Office to the barangay San Isidro as per
information received last 2017.
