 To identify the most important elements of compare - contrast essays in order to express their
COMMUNICATIVE
OBJECTIVES AND ideas- opinions.
LINGUISTIC PURPOSE  To develop a basic text based on the elements learned during the session.

TIMELINE / SESSION Warm up:


MANAGEMENT
The teacher is going to ask students about different kinds of texts they know. Then asks them to look for
some names and short descriptions about what they found. Ss are going to read a brief description
about compare-contrast essays. The teacher gives some examples.

Reading:

Ss will read about Rock al Parque, a festival in Bogotá. The idea is to get ideas about writing a text. Then
SS read a text about hip hop al Parque. Ss will get the main ideas about them and try to write similarities
and differences.

Writing:

SS based on the guide given will fulfill the blanks with the information they got from the articles. SS can
read an easy example to imitate the style.
