1. Scope of Work:

In accordance with the project requirements, the scope of this Method Statement provides the
control sequence of construction and methodology that will be used for the replacement of radiator/
ventilation fan motors. It further provides the means for inspecting and testing the installations once
the activities are completed.

The purpose of this method statement is to outline the general requirements which should be taken
into consideration for this activity.

2. Purpose:

The purpose of this document is to explain the method and procedures that will be used to perform
the replacement activities with respective of HSE & Quality standards.

3. Organization & Responsibilities:

Project Manager:
 Responsible for controlling the project's entire activities.
 Responsible to ensure that adequate facilities, resources and equipment are provided to the work
to avoid injury, to ensure providing quality works within the planned timescale.
 Responsible for allocating the right resources for the planning and execution of all the activities.

Site Supervisor:

 Responsible to liaise with Client etc.


 Responsible to obtain/ closeout of work permits in site.
 Responsible to ensure good workmanship.
 Responsible to arrange required manpower/ tools/ equipment to perform the job.
 Responsible to inspect the works after completion.

Electrical & Mechanical Technician:

 Responsible to follow the work instructions given by the supervisor.


4. Work Process:

4.1 Access to Site:

 Customer is responsible to provide the safe access and egress to the site.
 ACE team will maintain good standards of housekeeping.

Supervision

 All the persons involved in the job will be explained about the safety aspects and requirements on
the job.
 Proper work plan will be made for the job.
 All work supervision will be managed by our competent supervisor who will be responsible for
entire operation.
 Necessary work permits to be obtained prior to commencement of the job.

4.2 Installation Procedure:

 Obtain required work permit prior to start the job.

 Ensure the genset is in turned off condition.

 Switch off the Main breaker and lock out for safety reasons.

 Verify the incoming power supply is totally off by using a multimeter.

 Open the terminal cover using proper tool.

 Marking and tagging all cable and terminal position to avoid errors after re-wiring back the cable
and motor connection.

 Identify record and confirm the wiring connection and terminal whether it is delta or star point.

 Perform megger test on the old motor and ensure the motor is failed prior to start dismantling.

 Disconnect the cables at the terminal block and pull out the cable with gentle to avoid any damage
using proper tools.

 Dismantle the gland fitted on the motor JB and remove the flexible conduits connected.
 Dismantle and bring down the damaged motor fitted on the frame by removing the bolts using
spanner.

 Dismantle the fan blade fitted on the damaged motor and replace the old fan blade to the newly
replacing motor.

 Cross check the mounting dimensions on the existing fan frame and ensure it is same as per the
new motor foot dimensions.

 Install the new motor into the frame and fix the fasteners and tighten it using spanners and finally
check and adjust the tightness using the torque wrench. Torque value (Nm) shall be as per the
standards.

 Check the condition of cable terminal ends and if required cut and replace the existing lugs.

 Reconnect the glands on the newly installed motors and terminate the cables.

 Make sure that there is no exposed cable that is dangling out of cable gland and make sure the
wiring is done in proper way.

 Verify the tightness of the cable termination by random wire pull test.

 Verify the cable continuity test / Megger between the motor and control panel prior to power up the
unit.

 Turn ON/OFF Ventilation fan motors MCB/MPCB for checking the functionality.

 Fan rotation direction will be checked.

 Current flows must be recorded and logged after replacement

5. Equipment & Tools:

All equipment/ tools required for work shall be thoroughly inspected prior to use..
