Application scenario 1
Evaluates the coverage of a radio network comprehensively and visually based on
measurement information reported by real users.
Application scenario 2
Identifies problematic areas in which exceptions occur frequently, and quickly locates
exceptions in combination with other themes such as cell performance analysis, which
reduce the number of drive tests (DTs) to be performed.
Application scenario 3
Identifies traffic hotspots to provide guidance for site deployment and accurate capacity
expansion, and to maximize gains.

Note:
1. Feature database—based locating requires that a feature database containing information such as the levels of all cells
on the network be established in advance. The locating precision increases as the accuracy of the database information
improves.
2. Locating based on the Cell ID and delay among others requires that MRs provide sufficient neighboring cell and delay
information, and therefore does not apply to all scenarios.

1. The summarization result of a periodic task can be exported every 1 to 7 days. However, the summarization result of
a periodic task can be exported only on a daily basis if the task is executed based on specified busy hours.
2. The system saves the analysis results of a periodic task for a maximum of 15 days by default, which means:
• If the analysis result of the periodic task is exported every day (minimum period), the system saves a maximum
of 15 results for the task.
• If the analysis result of the periodic task is exported every 7 days (maximum period), the system saves a
maximum of two results for the task (the result is exported every 7 days).

Note:
1. All abnormal event counters are used only with eRAN6.0 and later versions.
2. The Nastar allows you to collect statistics on the confidence levels of locating results and to export a
confidence level map layer. It also allows you to filter certain counters based on specified confidence
level criteria.
Note:
Currently method 3 depends on a specific counter that is associated with a filtering parameter, and most
counters are associated with the number of MRs.
Association
between grids and
serving cells
Note:
Click a grid on the grid map layer rendered by the GIS. The Nastar connects the grid to cells that provide services within the
grid, and displays detailed counter information for the TopN cells in the grid in the Grid Details area at the bottom of the GIS.
This helps you identify the TopN contributing cells in key grids, thereby analyzing problems, correlating problematic areas with
the corresponding NEs, and then optimizing these NEs.
Note:
If analysis results are displayed in GIS-based grid map layers, you can right-click a cell to view the grids covered by the cell on
a certain layer. This helps network optimization engineers rapidly and easily perform coverage analysis on a single cell.

LTE SAU 5. Obtains the MDT data Trace Server
2. Collects 4. MDT terminals report
• SAU: pre-processes and reports MDT data AGPS and MR data
data to the Nastar.
• Nastar: generates a feature 3. Performs
database and delivers the feature measurement control
database to each SAU.
Advantages:
1. The Nastar automatically generates and delivers a feature
database without using any external planning tool. This
reduces delivery cost and improves delivery efficiency.
2. Real MR and GPS or AGPS data, whose accuracy is higher
than a feature database that is generated based on coverage
prediction, is used. This improves the locating precision.
After a one-time LTE complaint analysis support task is created, the Nastar enables SAUs that are
connected to the Trace Server to filter mass call records generated within specified time periods and
cells based on the IMSIs of complaining users. After the filtering, the Nastar can quickly obtain
abnormal call records, including normal call records generated before and after abnormal calls
occur (because such records may also need to be analyzed for certain exceptions).

The following function is changed in Nastar V600R015 compared with Nastar V600R011:
The navigation paths for different RATs are unified, helping you perform combined
complaint analysis support on multiple networks owned by the same telecom operator.
Supported complaining users: The IMSIs of complaining users are used as their communication identities on a radio
network for complaint analysis support.
The Nastar supports complaint analysis for a maximum of 2000 users.
Supported areas in which complaints are made: cell-level, eNodeB-level, and inter-OSS complaint analysis support.
Common subscribers: In eRAN3.X and eRAN6.X, the key signaling messages of each common
subscriber are analyzed. In eRAN7.0, 30 signaling messages (which are generated before a call
release) of each common subscriber are analyzed. VVIP subscribers: All the signaling messages
of each VVIP subscriber can be subscribed to and analyzed.
During a call, the mobile terminal reports the IMSI, start time and end time of the call, and
cells that are accessed and released during the call.
After a one-time or periodic LTE complaint analysis support task is created, the Nastar
enables SAUs that are connected to the Trace Server to filter mass call records generated
within specified time periods and cells based on the IMSIs of complaining users. After the
filtering, the Nastar can quickly obtain abnormal call records, including normal call records
generated before and after abnormal calls occur (because such records may also need to be
analyzed for certain exceptions).
4 Minimum period supported by a periodic analysis task 0.5 hour 0.5 hours
Note: The all-signaling analysis capability of the LTE VIP analysis function depends on
the device version.
In eRAN6.0 or later, LTE VIP analysis can analyze all the signaling messages of VIP
subscribers.
VIP user information is very sensitive. To ensure the security of VIP user information, the Nastar
provides integrated security management and control functions.
Sensitive VIP user information
• Sensitive VIP user information includes the IMSI of a VIP user, MSISDN/mobile phone number, VIP
analysis results, and active cell information of the VIP user.
Security management and control means
• No VIP user information (such as SMS messages or call contents) can be captured on networks.
• A stricter scheme for fully encrypting the IMSI and MSISDN is provided.
• A stricter scheme for partially encrypting the reserved IMEI-TAC is provided.
• Rights control is added for VIP group management and viewing, which is precise to the VIP user level.
• Rights control is added for VIP analysis theme operations and viewing.
• Sensitive VIP information (such as IMSIs) is removed from the GUI that displays VIP analysis results.
• Rights control is added for auto Email of VIP analysis results.
Secure and flexible rights setting
• Rights can be authorized by VIP group or VIP user. In this way, different accounts can use the same VIP
group or VIP user.
• Operation rights and viewing rights are under separate control.

Supported subscribers: VIP groups and VIP subscribers are regarded as analysis objects.
The Nastar supports a maximum of 30,000 VIP subscribers.
Supported locations: The Nastar supports cell-level, eNodeB-level, and inter-OSS complaint
analysis support.
Compared with Nastar V600R011, the following specifications for a periodic VIP analysis
task are enhanced in Nastar V600R015:
The minimum analysis period is reduced to from 1 hour to 30 minutes.
Busy-hour-based VIP analysis is introduced.

Active cell analysis table of
VIP users of a specified NE
Compared with Nastar V600R011, Nastar V600R015 provides the network-level VIP active cell
analysis function:
Analysis results are displayed in tables, which is easier for you to quickly detect active cells where
VIP users experience exceptions based on any counters.
Analysis results can be filtered and viewed flexibly by NE object, service type, and counter set.
Nastar V600R015 allows you to start the trend analysis function quickly without setting
complicated search criteria.
The Nastar collects statistics on and analyzes the measurement results of specified
UEs based on measurement event information reported by UEs, thereby helping
identify the terminal penetration, terminal capability, and terminal performance.

Frequency Band, GSM Frequency Band, UMTS Frequency Band, Handover from SRVCC to GSM, Handover from
SRVCC to UMTS, CSFB, LTE Redirection to UMTS, LTE Redirection to GSM, and CA Capability.
Application scenario 1
Identify problematic cells through means such as traffic measurement and analyze the
performance of identified problematic cells.
Application scenario 2
Analyze a large number of cell exceptions to identify problematic cells, key exceptions,
and bottom users.
Network-level Subscriber-level
After a one-time LTE cell performance analysis task is created, the Nastar enables SAUs that
are connected to the Trace Server to filter records generated during abnormal calls based on
specified historical time periods and cells from mass call records, and then analyzes the
filtered call records, thereby quickly analyzing the performance of problematic cells.
LTE cell performance analysis analyzes the exceptions occurred during each
call. Therefore, a large amount of data needs to be processed, and the number
of cells allowed in one task is subject to the system specifications.
This function focuses on cell exceptions. Therefore, only the exceptions about
the current RAT or eNodeB are analyzed and CHRs are not combined where
inter-RAT handovers or inter–eNodeB handovers are implemented.
