on PSY, Pleads for Expeditious Notification0

President NITMA is extremely
appreciative of the Hon’ble
Minister for Commerce & Industry,
Shri Piyush Goyal Ji & DGTR
for their recommendation to
impose ADD on PSY, originating
in or exported from China PR,
Indonesia and Vietnam and
above all, to the dynamic vision
& leadership of the Hon’ble PM
Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
He then touched upon slew
of measures & decisions taken by
Govt. to actuate the expansion of
Indian Industry, Textile & clothing
industry in particular, mentioning
the following:
. Recently announced
RoDTEP scheme for exporters
covering entire textile value chain.
.Encouraging MMF
segment via PLI scheme
. Removal of ADD on
Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF)
. Revoking ADD on PTA
which is the primary raw material
for Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF)
. Setting up of Seven
Mega Textile parks under MITRA
scheme
. Extension of RoSCTL
scheme, for Garments & Made-
ups, upto 31.03.2024

is included in the ASEAN FTA
& hence cleared @ ZERO duty
with the ASEAN certificate. While
the Yarn is cleared zero duty, its
immediate raw material Polyester
Staple Fibre HS code 55032000
is not included in the FTA & hence
cleared @ full duty rate of 5.5%
since it is not included in the list.
This has denied a level playing
field for the Indian Spinning Mills
as compared to their counterparts
in Indonesia & Vietnam & makes
it impossible for the domestic
industry to compete with the
dumped & zero duty imports.

Bihar Minister demands for Two Textile Parks

Mills to invest in BMRE
Mumbai: Tamijuddin Textile Mills,
has decided to invest in balancing,
modernisation, rehabilitation and expansion
(BMRE) an estimated amount of Tk 500
million.
Tamijuddin Textile backed to the
Dhaka Stock Exchange's main market on
June 13 this year along with three other
companies, after staying on the over-the-
counter (OTC) market more than a decade
since 2009 due to its poor performance.
The Company said that the fund
investment will be financed with its own
equity and bank loan.
Most of the machinery will be added,
or replaced, gradually from China, Japan
and European countries with state-of-the-
art spinning-production facility.
The textile maker expects that after
execution of the BMRE a significant value
addition will come in terms of company's
profitability, yarn quality, production
capacity and efficiency.
Mr. Hussain also made demands
for two textile parks in Bihar.
Mr. Hussain said at the meeting
that under the government of India’s
Mega Textiles Park Scheme, a minimum
1,000 acres of land is required.
H o w e v e r, f o r a n a g r i c u l t u r e
dominated state like Bihar, it would be
difficult to arrange 1,000 acres of land
at one place.
He said that the Government of
Bihar has two land parcels of 200 acres
each for textile parks and if the Centre
accepts the demand of Bihar then
immediately two textile parks could be
developed in the state.

Invista to double
Production at SCIP
Mumbai: Invista Nylon Chemicals
(China) Co has announced its plans to
double the current nylon 6,6 polymer
production at Shanghai Chemical Industry
Park (SCIP) and signed a memorandum of
cooperation with SCIP. The new capacity
will enable Invista to quickly respond
to the growing demand for engineering
plastics in automotive, electrical and
other application fields. According to the

year capacity increase in 2020, this new
