Personal Grooming Standards

Body language, Poise, Posture
• Nonverbal communication

• Good and poor posture

• Walking, standing, moving.

• Body language can convey positive or negative impressions


Uniforms and Aprons
• Most restaurant require that the server
wear a specific uniform and apron
• Some uniforms and aprons are plain, while
others are stylish and will accent the
theme, colors and decor of the restaurant.
• Some uniform are as formal as a tuxedo or
can be as casual as a pair of khaki pants,
polo shirt and white sneakers
Shoes
• Two pairs of shoes are recommended for
servers working long hour. One pair can dry
and air and other pair is being worn.
• Slipresistant footwear for servers to
purchase.
Server Health
• The health of server is critical

• Server should use gloves or tongs when


handling any ready to eat food, which
includes breads, lemons, butter or any other
food that will not be cooked before the guest
will eat.
• The server should be aware with their
hands when carrying flatware, glassware,
and chinaware
