METHOD STATEMENT FOR RACEWAY

OBJECTIVE
The objective of this method statement is to describe the methodology to be followed for
installing Power Cabling as per the approved drawings to the required line and level as per the
approved specifications

SCOPE
Procedure shall be adopted for all the works of Architects Evolution for the Sandvik Asia Pvt.
Ltd.

REFERENCE

o Approved relevant shop drawings

RESPONSIBILITY
o Section in-charge/Supervisor
Concern section in-charge/Supervisor shall execute out work as per procedure and
maintain the check list for work
o QA/QC Engineer
To ensure proper methodology is being followed during execution.

SAFETY PRECAUTION
o Only skilled persons shall handle the activities
o Ensure that material handling shall be done in proper manner
o Use of PPE’s like goggles, hand gloves, helmet and safety shoes shall be ensured
o Proper lighting in work area shall be ensured
 o Proper platform for the height works shall be ensured

TOOLS
o Electric drill, Saw machine, Grinder, Measuring tape, Screw driver, Hammer, Filling
tool, Adhesive Tape

METHOD STATEMENT

o Refer and understand raceway layout SAND-G-EL-2003-R0 provided by designer

o Establish the 82mmX38mm GI raceway route and mark using the liner
o Mark the position for 150mmX150mm floor junction box
o Cutting of existing floor with saw machine as per marking for raceway and junction box
o Installation of junction box in floor cut out and fixing with screwing
o Cutting of raceway pipe using grinder machine as per requirement
o Filing of cutting edge for smooth finish
o Closing of both ends of raceway by using adhesive tape
o Laying of raceway in floor cut out between junction box
o Close the junction box with temporary filling material above finish floor level
o Finish with cement mortar on raceway and excess floor cutting
o Necessary checking and approval shall be taken
o Necessary cleaning to be done
o Creation of as built drawing
