Inty raymi (in quechua is sun’s festival”) is an ancient andian religious ceremony in honor of father

sun. This ceremony is performed in the main square of Cuzco on june 24 th .The celebration is for
15 days.

Days in wich are made dances an sacrifices. Inti raymi is the homage wich the peruavians.

Worshiped the sun and all of nature wich ocupy the whole Street and square. Where they atlend a
lot of foreigners and peruvians.

starts against the Coricancha, where an Inca (king) fictional, makes an invocation to the sun. As
ancient tradition, the sacrifice is made of a flame, which is the image of life and purity, is
performed to remove evil spirits and bring good crops the following year. After this ceremony the
people go to enjoy the delicious dishes such as barbecue, the guinea pig chactado, corn bread and
the dish typical "Chiri Uchu". feature is the drink chicha.
