Modern technology is creating a

single world culture.

It is common knowledge that since the innovation of technology befalled, human civilisation has
witnessed a huge shift in the way people live and perceive the world, making it possible for them
to get access to a pool of knowledge in a more easier and quickier way. Due to such wide-scale
inclination, a school of thoughts hold the belief that the increasing amount of people approaching
the same information on a regular basis can gradually form a single world culture. From my own
perspective, I think that under no circumstances should people share a similar culture for some
reasons below.

First and foremost, we cannot deny the fact that modern technology acts as the catalyst for
facilitating globalization when it comes to social perspective. Specifically, the advent of
technological devices, namely TV, or smartphones, have given a chance for people to grasp more
information about distinctive cultures around the world, which could potentially help bridge the
cultural gap among different nations, rulling out the possibility of discrimination being rampant
on a worldwide scale. Take the prejudice towards black-coloured people, the most discernible
quintessence of such criminal, for example. To say the least, they have to undergo the
mistreatment for a very long time triggered by white-coloured ones without having no chances to
voice their own thoughts. Or even in the U.S, despite using, or selling no drugs, they are still
likely to be arrested unfairly for drug offences, making a disproportionate amount of the prison
population. In fact, if white-coloured people, or even people, in principles, could make a
progress in grasping more knowledge about life and cultures of black people, surely such
broken-hearted circumstances would no longer be a heavy burden for the whole society. In this
way, unexpected misunderstandings can no longer be a crux of the matter, bonding a tight
relationship among people from various cultures.

From the linguistic standpoint, it is strongly believed that the ever-growing enhancement of
technology can potentially help people master the so-called “lingua franca”, of which the most
palpable archetype of late is defenitely English. Given the fact that the need of using English is
becoming ubiquitous in every aspect of life, from social, to academical status, it is of the utmost
importance for people to get some hands-on knowledge about such language to serve different
demands in their life. Thankfully, the omnipresence of social platforms, namely Facebook, or
Instagram, and the increasing number of online courses available on the Internet have made it
possible for people to get approach to English in a more effortless way. As a consequence,
striving to learn English does not become a challenging obstacle for people anymore, together
with the fact that they can easily get access to a pool of shared documents in English, positively
broadening their horizons in countless expertises. On top of that, once sharing a unified
language, people can stand more chances of making a leap in their communicational skill
without the assistance from any interpretation, which improves their sense of confidence when it
comes to voicing their state of mind on a worldwide issue.

On the other hand, however, albeit the undetachable relationship between the livelihood of
human-beings and technological innovation, on no account should we incorporate into a united
culture instead of preserving our originated one. To be more specific, it is strongly believed that
culture can auspicously symbolize a country’s value and identity, herewith the contribution to a
nationwide cultural diversity. Take Vietnamese culture for instance. To our best knowledge, folk
are the most illustrious features that whenever mentions Vietnam, most of people can be heard
of. What makes them well-known, not only for their time-honoured existence, but also for the
representation of people’s life in the indignant and melancholy period during the wartime. As a
result, if we just focus on the inclination for the development of a unified culture, then, certainly,
all the traditions belonging to our native will absolutely be heedless of, eventuating in the
increasing amount of cultural loss. No other cultural heritages become widely recognized by the
world when human’s civilisation merely pays attention to just one-and-for-all cultural lifestyle.
In addition, to a greater extent, sharing the same culture is definitely out of question when
people’s ways of life are different from each other. Somehow such propensity can trigger culture
shock on account of the challenge in accepting and getting used to a wholly new custom. All
things considered, it is too pathetic and absurd an idea for people to share a single world culture
when it brings us nothing but unsolvable setbacks that we have to face up to once executing it.

In conclusion, although it is discernible that the cutting-edge technology has made a good
turnout for the whole society, I am of the opinion that we should take it into consideration about
all the merits and demerits that may be befall whenever regarding the social amalgamation.
