V. OBJECTIVES:

Math Day 2021 with the theme “Mathematics for a Better World” aims to provide its models and
tools to help us understand, monitor, and control the spread of the virus.

Specifically, it aims to:

(a) appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty of mathematics;

(b) encourage students to recognize that mathematics permeates the world around us;

(c) understand and be able to use the language, symbols and notation of mathematics;
(d) become confident in using mathematics to analyse and solve problems both in school and in
real-life situations ; and
(e) develop a critical appreciation of the use of information and communication technology in
mathematics
