For Alfil millers for both mills A & B and motor vehicles for the
month of December 2020

The maintenance team is pleased to present the attached Monthly report. Included is a detailed
report of operation and maintenance of Mill B and motor vehicle for the month of December.

Executive Summary
The month of December ran well and it was very productive. During last month, we
experienced minor break downs in mill B mainly stitching machines. Majorly, we carried out
prevent maintenance in mill B including general greasing. On motor vehicle side, we have
carried out both preventive and breakdown maintenance on few trucks majority of which had
brake systems faults, air bags and self starters’ failures, though repair of some vehicles is still
pending due to lack of spare parts.
Preventive maintenance done at Mill B
We carried out daily, weekly and monthly prevent maintenance on mill B during the last month
(December), as follows;

1. Daily maintenance included blowing of mill B, draining of condensed vapor from

compressor and daily inspection of mill equipments during production to identify and
rectify any fault before intensification.
2. Weekly maintenance done in May includes;
 Cleaning of magnets in mill A
 Cleaning of air filters on blowers
 Cleaning of inspection glasses for rollers since these are mainly affected by
moisture for Mill B
 Cleaning dampening machine to remove rotten grain
 Blowing of low pressure fans inside mill B to avoid excessive vibrations that may
damage electric motor bearings
3. Other maintenance work done last month includes;
 Installing two new slide rollers on warehouse one gate
 Sealing of water leakages and cleaning gutters on all roof tops of production
facility
 Tightening of loose bolts on all equipments respectively on mill B chassis
 Emptying choked cyclones and aspiration channels
 Topping up blower oil

PERSONNEL

The maintenance team includes one motor vehicle & one maintenance mechanic, one welder,
two technical helpers and turn men for motor vehicles. The one technical helper also works in
production shift changeovers as well. The team work hand in hand to deliver precise results.
