Exercise 3-Inverse variation

You have the following information about a birthday, where sweets are distributed.

Children 1 3 4 6
Candy 12

How can we fill in the empty spaces?

An inverse rule of three must be done since with the increse of children the amount of candy
is lees, for this the operations are.
3 1 4 1 6 1
? 12 ? 12 ? 12
Candy= Candy=
12÷3×1=4 12÷4×1=3 Candy=12÷6×1=2

In this case, the resolution would be following:

Niños 1 3 4 6
Dulces 12 4 3 2
Conclusión: This is a exercise was chosen because the number of children increases while
the number of sweets decreases a clear example of inverse variation , it was solved using a
rule of three, which consists of dividing the number twelve which is the number of sweets
and multiplying by one representing the number of children
Exercise 4-Inverse variation
Two painters take 8 days to paint a house, with this information complete the table.

Painters 1 2 3 4
Days 8

How we Will fill in the missing data?

We will use the inverse variation since the number of painters changes and therefore the
number of days must correspond to their variant.

1 2 3 2 4 2
? 8 ? 8 ? 8
Days=8×1÷2=4 Days=8×3÷2=12 Days=8×4÷2=16
So the resolution of this problem is

Painters 1 2 3 4
Days 4 8 12 16

Conclusión: This exercise was chosen because like the previos three exersise , the number
of painters increases meanwhile the number of days must decrease, to perform the exercise
eight was multiplied , which is the number of days between the number of painters.
