Sequencing Activities and

Critical Path Method Estimate Activity Resources
Precedence Diagramming Method (PDM) / Activity-on-node
(AON) is used for sequencing activities and identifying the
critical path.
y The critical path is defined as the longest path through the
project and has no float or slack time. And it is the shortest time
you can deliver a project.
project
y Critical Path Method calculates a single critical path for the
project. To calculate the float or slack time in other activities, it
requires that you perform a forward pass, backward pass, and
calculate float for the entire network diagram.
y Lets practice some calculations.

Estimate Activity Resources Process Estimate Activity Duration

Involves determining what resources (persons, equipment, or material) and what quantities of each
resource will be used, and when each resource will be available to perform project activities. This process requires that the amount of work effort required to complete the schedule
activity is estimated.
