Activity No. 3: Are you prepared?

You have seen or probably have experienced the following environmental issues. What would you do if these happen again?
Examine the situations that may occur, and let’s see how you are going to respond to the different situations that will test your
skills to survive.

Situations My action response?

1. volcanic eruption - I would bring some essentials like food, water and my phone in case I need to contact
someone and evacuate from my location immediately and ask a government official
for directions on where I should go.

2. scarcity of food - I would start rationing the remaining food and set a routine of only eating food at
lunch, dinner, and maybe breakfast. I will set proportions for when I will eat food.

3. flooding in your - I would gather my needs like food, clean water, and electronics and go to a higher
area position of my house and try to cover the bottom and sides of the door to avoid
leaking.

4. shortage of clean - I will start to be mindful of how much water I drink. If required, I will start boiling
water water from sinks in order to remove bacteria from the water.

5. during an - I would do the duck, cover, and hold and when the earthquake stops, I will go outside
earthquake to an open area in case there are aftershocks.

6. when the sewer - I will call assistance from a barangay to help with my sewage system and avoid flushing
system is broken when I take a piss so that the sewage problem wont get worse.

7. fire breaks out in - I would immediately get out of my house and call the fire department. If there are any
your home surrounding houses, I would warm them that there is a fire and tell them to take
caution.

8. thunderstorms - I will unplug every appliance in order to avoid electric problems and seal my doors and
windows so there are no leaks.
9. soil erosion in the - I will have to remove items that are on soil and be careful when I’m walking around in
neighborhood my neighborhood.

10. animal diseases - I would immediately start buying supplies in a trusted area and avoid markets. Then I
outbreak will quarantine myself and ration my food and water to last long while researching
about the outbreak.
