The SCOPE-CLEANER-disinfector is an apparatus to be used universally. It is used to disinfect, to neutralise,

to blow, to dry and to clean flexible endoscopes. Servicing is not necessary, because the built-in parts are not subject to wear,
only the membrane of the pump wear out and should be replaced as indicated. For disinfect ion only those disinfectants should
be used that are recommended by the endoscope manufacturers.

Before using the SCOPE-CLEANER please make clear that you have studied all safety and installing instructions. Keep safe all
instruction manuals and safety references so that it is ready to hand for future use. Please follow all operation and handling
instructions. All warnings have to be observed do not use aggressive or alcoholic detergents. Use exclusively a moist cloth for
cleaning the external case in connection with a paintmild detergent or disinfectionliquid. Only operate the device with the
operating voltage specified on the type designation plate. If you are not you itself over the present one main voltage secure,
please, talk with your housing technical services or your electrician. Electrical devices in direct proximity (e.g. Handy) can lead
to the electro-magnetic influencing of the SCOPE-CLEANER. Never let penetrate foreign body into the interior device.
Osculating contacts standing under tension can lead for a short circuit what can cause a fire or current stroke. Do not spill
liquids on the device.
Not undertake the experiment to repair the device itself! The opening or removing coverings can trigger a current stroke as well
as other hazards. Leave the complete maintenance operations to of our qualified technology department. Alcoholic liquids must
not be pumped through the disinfector. Please keep the cleaning instructions of the endoscope manufacturers. In order to you
avoid obstructed channels and the following disinfect ion process will be simple and quick. Check tightness of your endoscope
before connecting it to the disinfector. Check the gaskets of the valve seats, never screw in valve seats without any gaskets or
with defective gaskets

With the SCOPE-CLEANER the following endoscopes can be disinfected.

see the remaining time
4.) Push button ƒ “ START “
Through the aspiration tube with filter the liquid for disinfect ion is being pressed over the 3 pumps to the channels of the
endoscope. Air bubbles are being shown on the distal end of the endoscope. This shows that all channels are free or better
say correctly working. Please be sure that air-bubbles are not coming out from the tubes or from other parts of the endoscope
like movement adjuster. In case of unidentified air-bubbles push power button to “OFF”(0) ‚
5.) After disinfect ion a signal sounds.

If a channel is obstructed of through previous cleaning, i.e. malfunction of air/water-channel or A/B

channel can’ t be redressed, then observe the following instructions (keep to the sequence):
Press power button 0 (off)

ATTENTION ! All tubes are filled with disinfectant and the obstructed tube is under pressure.

What then? Very simple, you squeeze the tube immediately connection to the endoscope and remove it.
Put the tube into the disinfect ion solution and let it slowly go.
Apply the same procedure to the other tubes.
Redress now the obstruction, e.g. using a cleaning brush.

Channel check
Air bubbles appear at the distal end. All channels are clear, disinfect ion and cleaning start.

Blowing out the disinfectant

1. After completion of disinfect ion remove aspirator tube from the disinfect ion solution.
2. Set time clock for about 5 min. The pumps suck air and after about 10sec. air bubbles appears at the distal end.
3. Reset time clock to 0.

Neutralisation
1. Lay down the endoscope in waterfilled tank
2. Hang on the aspirator tube
3. Push malfunction on “AUTO”
4. Set time clock for about 5 – 7min. (eg. gastroscopes 5 min.)

4. Repair

The apparatus does not work.

Does the green lamp at the main-switch light up?
Check main-cable and output.
Check fuses at the back of the apparatus.

The apparatus works, but with too little power!

The aspirated amount is too little.
The filter is obstructed. Clean or replace it.

Pressure control does not work or operates too early. (Only for SCOPE-CLEANER Type 10)
At the backside of the apparatus there are two holes for adjusting pressure control. With the help of a little screwdriver the moment
of operating can be changed by a slight turn to the left or to the right.

If faults cannot be redressed by simple means, send apparatus in for repair.

Remark: The manufacturer is responsible for the safety qualities of the apparatus, only if installation, expansion,
adjustment, alteration and repair are executed with persons authorised by the manufacturer and if the
wiring conditions of the room in question comply with the VDE-regulations and if the apparatus is used in
accordance with the operating instructions.

15. Recommendations and prevention against germination

· Please take care that the tap water must be examined regularly for germs.

· The membranes and the innertubes of the device must be exchanged every year. In the case of germination an exchange of
these parts is unavoidable. The spare parts are to be noted from the parts list.

· Please use only disinfectant that corresponds to the list of disinfectant of the DGHM and or to the orders of the endoscope-
manufacturers.

· We recommend the effort of enzymatic cleaners. Those are effective against amylases and Proteases in order to destroy a
Biofilm and to avoid a Biofilm.

· In case of that the SCOPE-CLEANER is not running for more than 12 hours, we recommend a so-called “self-disinfect ion”This
practice is also recommended by the endoscope-manufacturers for the endoscopes. Also do not forget to autoclave the
connection tubes daily. They can be autoclaved with 134°C (2 bar/18min) . We recommend to change all the connection tubes
yearly.

· To obtain a better control of “self-disinfect ion”, we developed the protocol-printer that records not only the disinfect ion
procedure of the endoscopes, it gives also to your employees a control of the last use of the SCOPE-CLEANER´s. In addition,
after a “self-disinfect ion”of the SCOPE-CLEANER´s a report will be printed out so that you can be able to put this report to
your files.

· Alternatively we recommend, in case that you do not use the SCOPE-CLEANER during the weekend, to power on the SCOPE-
CLEANER and pump for a short time disinfectant through the channels and tubes. Please take care that all airbubbles, which
can be in the pump-chambers, are pumped off. After this procedure power off the SCOPE-CLEANER. Do not detach the tubes
from the device, this have the effect that air-bubbles comes into the circulation and affects negative the disinfectant. So please
and let the tubes connected so that no air bubbles reduces the effectiveness of the disinfectant. In this case you do not need a
“self-disinfect ion due to the reason that disinfectant remained in the device over the weekend.
