STEP 2: Setup Your Amazon Laptop

Once you have registered your USB Security Key on a personal computer, you now need to connect your
laptop to your home internet service.

Setup internet access


1. Connect your Amazon laptop to power
2. Power on the laptop
3. Insert one of the USB Security Keys you configured in STEP 1
4. At the logon screen select the Wi-Fi symbol which can be found in the bottom right corner (if you can’t
see it press a key on the keyboard)

5. Find your home internet network and press Connect.

6. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your wireless internet password. You should now be
connected to your home internet provider. If unable to connect to wireless you may need to connect
your laptop to an Ethernet cable to complete these steps for the first time, then wireless should
become available.
7. Next we will use the USB Security Key and PIN you set up in STEP 1 to connect to Amazon’s network.
To do this, select the Network sign-in symbol which is next to the Wi-Fi symbol.

8. You will see the following icon appear on screen.

9. Once connected the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client will appear in the bottom right corner.
Click on Connect.
10. The Cisco AnyConnect login box will now appear. Type in the username your manager provided.

11. In the Password box, type in the PIN number you configured in STEP 1 and then place your finger on
the side of your USB Security Key until a series of “*” appear. The Cisco AnyConnect Client will then
attempt to connect to the Amazon Network.

12. Once connected, a security notification will pop up as shown below. Click OK (in some cases it may
flash on screen for a second and disappear).
13. You should now see the Windows logon screen.
STEP 3: Login to your Amazon Laptop
Now that you have successfully completed STEP 1 and STEP 2 you are ready to login to your Amazon laptop.

1. Type in the username and password provided by your manager into the login dialogue box and press
Enter.
2. After logging into your device for the first time you must change your password. To do this open a web
browser and navigate to https://password-v2.corp.amazon.com/ .

3. Type in your username and current password in the first 2 boxes.

4. Then type in a new password in the next 2 boxes. And click Next.
5. Please note. Read the “Password Rules” section to ensure your new password meets our criteria. If you receive
an error please try again until receiving a Success message.

6. After 30 minutes, lock your computer by pressing Windows key + L. Log back into your computer using your new
password.

FAQs:
I haven’t received my USB Security Key. What do I do?
Reach out to your manager and let them know so they can order a replacement as soon as possible.

Do I always need to connect to the Amazon network (VPN) before I login to my device?
No, but you will have a better experience if you do. You only need to perform these steps the first time. After
that you can login using your username and password and then connect to the VPN.

How do I connect to VPN after I login? 


1. Open Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
o Open Start Menu > Type and select Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
2. In the Cisco AnyConnect window, the drop-down menu should say Automatic Selection (Route 53).
3. Click Connect > Cisco will open a window asking for your VPN credentials:
o Group: This will automatically populate depending on your operating system.
o Username: Enter your Amazon login without @amazon.com.
o Password: Enter your Midway PIN > Without moving the cursor, then place your finger on the
side of your USB Security Key until a series of “*” appear. The Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client
will then attempt to connect to the Amazon Network.
4. You will see the below image confirming you are connected to the Amazon network over VPN.
o VPN sessions time out every 12 hours and then require re-authentication.

Do I need to be connected to the Amazon network to do my job?


To access internal Amazon systems, you will need to be connected using VPN.
