What are the most imp facts?
Mia is a newly appointed Program Manager at Rescue but her first day did not seem promising.
Facing bad day at work made her wonder about the decision to accept this job which was offered by
HR at a networking event. Thinking about being the sole breadwinner in her household and the
chaotic work environment at office made her more worried. Mia contacted Saul regarding the first
project offered to her in Rescue which involved comparing new versus old strategies which was
totally different from what was told to her at the time of hiring. Mia finally arranged a meeting with
her manager for 30mins where the scope of broadening her duties were denied. Later, talking to Jessie
made her realize about the actual working condition at office, for which she reached out to Saul and
thought talking behind Michael’s back was a bad idea.

Describe the problem or challenge?


As reading the case the problem which Mia is facing is because of improper communication in which
no one is giving satisfactory replies. It took too much time to her in communicating with the HR and
others. There is no orientation for her so that she gets to know about the operations. Michael don’t get
time to communicate with their employees and the work environment is also not good for the
employees. The organization is more into opening new offices into different places and is lacking
employees. Therefore, Mia has to do the desk job or back-office job.

What is alternative course of action?


Mia has two options either she can switch the job or she can stay in the job.
If she doesn't like the situation or she thinks her potential is getting low here she can always switch,
she needs to overcome the negative experience at RECUSE for the future growth. And start doing
what she actually likes and is good at it. Mia can think about what she is looking for in her job. If Mia
wants to stay, as the only breadwinner of family, company is paying her double from the former
company. She can stay and analyze the situation and the problem and then she can share and
communicate it with her senior SAUL & michael. As its just few days to her new work and maybe
there can be changes over the period of time. She can take small proactive steps to improve her
situation and as Michael told her he will manage the time for weekly check ins she could always put
her thoughts and problems in those meetings.

RECOMMENDATION-
After studying the case it can be recommended that:
Mia should try learning new skills as changing jobs is not a good option.
Mia could have searched for new possibilities within company.
Rescue should follow a proper communication channel and onboarding formalities for its employees.
Rescue must plan on workforce management.
