C. Explore:

Divide the class into four groups.

Each group will choose a leader, secretary and a Manila paper
reporter. Marking Pen
Establish rules and regulations before doing such
activity.

Each group will combine different materials in an

empty bottles in order to come up with a
mixture.
After forming a mixture, they’re now going to
identify the types and the characteristics
they being observed.

 What have you observed as you mix the following Scotch Tape
solid substances? Scissors
 What happened to each mixture?
 Can you describe the following mixtures?

Say:
Solids can be hard like a rock, soft like fur, a big rock like an
asteroid, or small rocks like grains of sand. The key is that
solids hold their shape and they don't flow like a liquid. A rock
will always look like a rock unless something happens to it.
The same goes for a diamond. Solids can hold their shape
because their molecules are tightly packed together.
E. Elaborate
 Have the pupils formulate the generalization by
asking what is mixture?
 After their outputs reporting, the teacher will give
inputs on important concepts missed by the
students. The teacher will ask questions to develop
critical thinking.
 Describe solid and solid mixtures and give
examples.

IV. Evaluation

Give at least five (5) examples of solid and solid mixture Paper and Pencil
that are noticeable in your place and try to identify the
characteristics of each mixture.

Example: salt and flour.
