Activity Title: “Hand Language”

Part I: Activity

Instruction: Please label your hand with the following:

❖ At the wrist area, write your name/nickname you prefer for yourself.
❖ At the pointing finger, think and write a word or phrase which would best describe you (capture
the essence of your person).
❖ In the middle finger, think and put a symbol which would best illustrate your greatest experience
either negative or positive which helped you grow as a person.
❖ Ring Finger, a symbol of your blocks or hindrances for growing
❖ In the little finger, think and put a symbol which you consider as God’s greatest gift to you as a
person.
❖ In the thumb area, consider a person who plays an important role in your present life. Think and
put a symbol to represent such person.
❖ Lastly, in the palm area think and put symbol which would best represent something which keeps
you going on in your life now.

Answer the following Questions:

1. What were your thoughts and feelings while drawing your hand language?
Mixed emotions because each part of the activity really hits a part of me being alive and being a human that
keeps fighting for survival and challenges in life.

2. Was it easy/difficult in coming up with your symbols (hand language)? Why or Why not?
The easy part wasthe palm area, I always and will always represent my family as my strength to keep living, and
the hardest wasthe God's greatest gift because even i don't feel it but theres already alot of gifts God has given
to me especially being alive

3. What insights or realizations can you draw out from the activity?
I have realizes that, these symbols and people that sorrounds me is why I kept myself alive after all those
sufferings I've been through.

4. What principle in life can you relate to the activity?


Basically, the only principle in life that relates to this activity was to live in the moment because we may not know
if today is our last day alive.

5. Now, make a checklist of the people around you and assess the degree of intimacy which
exists between you and them, rank them from 1-10 (1 is the closest, 10 for distant). What
steps can you undertake to bring these relationships to a deeper and more personal level?
