D. Discussing new concepts
and practicing new skills #1 - Now, I will group you into 3.
- Each group will be given a task.
- Group 1, Arrange the parts of the skeleton properly.
- Group 2, Label the major parts of the skeleton
- Group 3, Put the correct function of the bones to the corresponding
label.

E. Discussing new concepts - Our body is composed of the parts such as bones and muscles that
and practicing new skills #2 work together to keep you alive.
- It has a framework called skeleton.
- Each bone in the skeleton has different functions.
-
- What do you call the part of our body that protects our brain?
- -(Skull)
- Correct!
- What do you think is the main function of the skull?
- (The skull helps protect the brain.)

- And where can we find our backbone?

- (we can find our backbone at the center of our back.)
- Very good!
- Can you feel your backbone?
- What do you think is the function of the backbone?
- (it protects the spinal cord.)

- Next is the hipbone.
- The hipbone are two large bones attached to the bottom of the
backbone.
- The pelvic bone which is included in the hipbone which supports the
spinal column.
- It holds the weight of the body. It acts as a tough ring protection

- Do you think the bones are connected to each other?
- (Yes, Ma’am)
- Very good!
- The bones in our body are also connected with each other.

- When I stop the song, you will stop passing the ball
- The one who is holding it need to be ready to answer my question
regarding to the topic.
G. Finding practical
applications of concepts and - How can we protect our bones and other internal organs to make our
skills in daily living body strong and healthy?
- (drink milk and other healthy foods that are rich in calcium.)
- (wear safety gears when riding a bike)

H. Making generalizations and - What are the different major bones that make up our body?
abstractions about the - (Skull, ribs, backbone, hipbone, pelvic bone, femur, humerus)
lesson
- Very good!
- What is the main function of the bones?
- (The bones support the body and protect the internal organs)
