Levels of Technology Integration:

X Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.

☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

● Visual
● Auditory Learners
● ELL Students- multiple language and the ability to rewind and replay the videos

Lesson idea implementation:

The teacher will introduce the intro to George Washington using BrianPOP. Students will be asked to
remember one exciting thing about George Washington. After we will use white board to list the things they
remember. We will continue adding George Washington information until we have one item for every
student. My end goal is to have them record a voice recording in an audio file and create a podcast.

Once there is enough facts about George Washington for each student, the students will each chose a fact
and create a group. They will put their facts together on a timeline and make a podcast to explain their facts.
After this is completed, the teacher will put all of the podcasts together for the entire class. This activity will
be uploaded to the schools website.

Reflective Practice:

After creating this lesson idea, I feel that this activity will be meaningful and memorable as the students will
have the time to learn about an important figure in history as well as learn from am educational video
resource. As an extension of the lesson, the students can compare the nation when George Washington was
President and the current President of the United States.
