1. In not more than two sentences, state the relationship between society and
schools.
-Society and school are both interconnected or interdependent in the sense that they
both mutually influence and are influenced by one another in complementary ways. How
can we build an ideal society without school or education, and how can we
systematically organize an education system without society? To understand this, we
must first understand what school or education is.
2. What is meant by socialization as a function of schools?

-One of the school's key tasks is to make every student socialize in their peer society.
Therefore, they learn acceptable behaviour, reciprocal connections, social norms, and
the correct resolution of conflicts.
3. Can school change the socializing effect of family, the primary agent of
socialization? Can an excellent school undo the socializing effect of an extremely
deprived home?
-Yes. School influences the way children socialize and promote socialization in families
employing communication among teachers, parents and children.

4. In the Philippines, was education a privilege enjoyed by all Filipinos since the
pre-colonial period? Why or why not?
-No, in the pre-Spanish Philippines, there was no formal educational system, most of
the knowledge is thought at home and in the local community, including reading and
writing skills, cultural customs, traditions, folk stories, history, epics and songs, the use
of music instruments, and so on. If families leave school to draw children, they can't
afford to send them, if schools make it that unwanted teen mothers don't come out and
if high school graduates get affordable, then and only then will all Filipinos enjoy it.

5. Was the national college entrance examination (NCEE) in support of equal

access to quality education? Why was it abolished when it did exactly what
Filipinos then wanted?

-In 1994, the NCEE was abolished by the desire for all high school students to enter university,
to have a better future profession. It is also anti-poor for Filipinos who strives for a four-year
degree if they didn't pass that said entrance exam.
