As an entrepreneur of the new normal and operations manager, propose a business that is timely in
this pandemic that would answer the present issues of our society.
As an entrepreneur of the new normal and operations manager, we would like to propose our
business that is called “BSAykleta (Bisikleta) – Bike Rentals”. We are a young entrepreneur taking the
BSA or the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy course that is why we decided to add “BSA” to our
business name which perfectly fits as “BSAykleta” or the Tagalog translation of the bike since we are
venturing into the bike rentals. We would like to propose our business BSAykleta – Bike Rentals as we
believe that it would be a game changer especially in this new normal situation. We know how we
struggle in terms of transportation especially if in times that we are being put in a stricter protocol or
implementation where transportation would not be allowed again or be limited again in any means.
So, we wanted to start a bike rental for those people that needs to buy all of their necessities, for
those people that needs to go somewhere or go to their job if ever the jobs are starting to open up
again in this new normal. We would like to promote bike rentals as we know that bicycling was a form
of exercise and its healthy besides choosing a bike as a mean of transportation would help lessen the
pollution that would contribute for us to being healthier and avoid some diseases. Also, everyone
wants to as possible protect themselves for catching the unwanted virus so by just renting a bike, one
does not need to have a contact with other people that would make them safer and we ensure that
the bikes that we held for rent are being properly disinfected and strictly monitored before and after
the use of our clients.

Who are the key players in the organization of your business?

The key players in the organization of our business involves:
 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or President – she is the owner of the business “BSAykleta
(Bisikleta) – Bike Rentals”. She will be the driving force behind the business whose primary
responsibilities include making major business decisions, managing the overall operations and
resources of the business and dealing with very high-level strategic decisions and those that
direct the business.
 Operating Manager – she is the leader for the operation and has the overall responsibility for
the financial success of the business. She implements the right processes and practices across
the business and handles external relations with the different parties and as well in charge in
the marketing for the business. She will set in motion the vision and make well-established
plans by producing a right amount of service at the right time, of the right quality and at the
right cost to meet customer requirements.
  Quality Control and Maintenance Personnel – he ensures the quality of the bikes per the
desired quality standards of a business, he make sure that it matches the business’ standards
in the specified business policy. He is also responsible for maintaining the quality of the bike
overtime, disinfecting it for maintaining health and preventing disease and repair some
damages if any.
 Accountant, bookkeeper and controller – she is responsible for monthly income statements
and balance sheets, collection of receivables, payroll and managing cash.
 Office Manager – she is responsible for keeping an office running smoothly and overseeing
administrative report. She may also serve as a human resource director and engage into some
duties including producing reports, composing correspondence, and drafting new contracts.
 Receptionist – she is the gatekeeper of an office. She allows access to other employees,
receive visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately, handle
phone calls, handle the mail, schedule appointments, answer questions, manage the flow of
traffic in the office and performs many other tasks as required by the office manager.

Your target market.

Our business’ target market are the workers and laborers that needs some means of transportation in
order to get into their job places as well the people that will be renting our bike to buy their everyday
needs like the food and water. The workers and laborers would be our target market as in this new
normal, we figured out that many of the workers would find the bike rentals convenient. Due to the
current situation, the transportation is sometimes being limited and if not, the people that can occupy
it was also limited to be cautious about the COVID-19 virus so the bike rentals would be of great help
for them to avoid having contact with other people and to not be able to have some difficulties in
getting a transportation in a daily basis, they do not have to wait for too long on the waiting stations
and have a race with other people just to get a transportation. The workers will not worry about may
be the bikes has a virus in it as it was properly disinfected and strictly monitored before and after the
contract with the clients. We think that many workers would be needing the bike rentals as they need
to go in their jobs but struggle in means of transportation especially during these times. Also, we
targeted the people that usually goes out to buy their foods particularly in the market/public
market/supermarkets. Many of them would also find our business beneficial as they do not have to
get other transportation especially that some of them had price hike, they did not have to walk as
well and stay outside for too long, it would be convenient for them. They will surely love it as aside
that they can exercise early in the morning, our bikes have a basket in the front (optional for
workers/laborers) which can hold everything that they have bought in the market. We think that
people would consider it as they usually need to stock up goods for their daily needs during these
times and that means they would go out frequently and bike as a mode of transportation would really
help them mentioning that these bike rentals are contractual and they can rent the bike for a week
before they can return it for inspection and renew another for a more convenient mode of
transportation.
How will you promote your business?
We will promote our business by advertising it primarily through the internet medium, social media
like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We will be creating our own page there so that people will
know about our business. Through the feedbacks and experiences of the clients that have tried our
service, they can share it on their own social media accounts that will lead for many others to know
about BSAykleta (Bisikleta) – Bike Rentals. We chose to advertise our business through the internet
medium as we know and are aware that most of the people spend their time scrolling through their
social media and with that being said, we can reach them and eventually they can be aware of our
business. Also, we will be creating some flyers and posters to promote our business as we are also
aware that some people may not use social media a lot. These can help our business to be recognized
more by other people and for them to know that we exist and we are here to help. Last but not the
least, we will be giving a 10% discount on our first 100 customers during our launch, this strategy will
help us to attract the customers into renting a bike from us and this will interest other people as well
that will lead for them to be curious and eventually try our service.

How do you intend to fund your project?

We believe that starting up a business can be difficult and costly especially in our chosen business but
we also believe that it is what the people will be needing during this new normal. We intend to fund
our project by getting an investor who would be willing to invest on us, also for the purpose of helping
others. We also consider applying in a loan or local funding opportunities that will grant our request.
Last but not the least, we would not want to rely entirely on other people and as this business was so
important for us, we are willing to fund it through self-funding by the people involved in the business
or the key players.

Convince investors why should we invest in you?

The investors should consider investing on us as this project is the what the people needed today, in
the new normal. Having bike rentals as a business would ease people’s pain and struggles. It is the
solution to their everyday problem of having no transportation to go to work or having a difficulty on
getting one mentioning the challenges that we are facing today where transportation is limited, seat
occupancy is limited and the fear of catching unwanted virus. The people would be needing this kind
of business as it was very convenient, aside from having a healthy lifestyle of having an exercise, they
would not be late in their work and would not have to have contact with any people as they can now
go to work by the transportation bike. The investors should consider funding our business as this
could be a game changer if we are able to launch this business. It would be a great demand for the
people especially those who usually go out in their house to buy necessities like food and water and it
would be beneficial as well as it has a basket in front for them to put everything they have bought
(this though is optional for bike rentals for workers as they may not need it). Most often, people
would be needing to go out due to some needs and renting a bike would be a great help also for them
to not be able stay longer outside. As we see that our business would be convenient, in-demand and a
solution to our current situation, the investors should invest on us as we foresee the great impact it
would cause and how it will make the business and the investors successful also while helping other
people.
