Campus Visit Reflection

Name of campus: University of Washington, Seattle

In-person OR virtual tour: Virtual Tour
Date visited: 9/12/21

1. Describe the campus. What was your overall impression, or feeling, about this

campus?

I really enjoyed the multiple campus tours that I watched. The campus is incredibly large

which was intimidating to me at first but after concluding the tours I felt more at ease

with the size. Each individual building held its own vibe and decor which I found very

interesting. I am excited by the potential to attend this campus, especially when the

cherry blossoms bloom in the spring.

2. Can you imagine yourself attending this campus, or one like it? Why or why not?

I can imagine myself attending this campus or something similar. Though I am

intimidated by the overall size of the campus, I feel that with time I would grow to be

more comfortable with it. Additionally, all of the different buildings provide an element

of surprise which makes it even more exciting to think about enrolling at this campus.

3. What did you like best about this campus? Explain.

I really enjoyed the nature on campus as well as the different designs of the buildings.

The nature surrounding all of the campus is very calming to look at especially when I

would be stressed with my classes. I am especially excited to potentially see the cherry
blossom trees bloom in the spring. All of the buildings have different architecture which

I also found very exciting as I am more used to colleges that have buildings that look

almost identical. I really enjoyed the libraries and all of the resources they provided. I am

super excited to visit the “Harry Potter Room” that is featured in one of the libraries.

4. What did you like least about this campus? Explain.

My least favorite thing about this campus is how much walking is involved in order to get

around campus. Since the weather in Seattle is mostly all rain, I would have to walk in the rain

quite a lot which is not ideal. Additionally, a large campus will take a lot of time to get used to

and makes me nervous about finding my classes.

5. What would you like to know more about? Explain.

I would love to know more about the dorms that are located on campus. A dorm tour was not

included in the tours provided on the website, so I will have to engage in my own research in

order to find more information. I would also like to learn more about public transportation

that is provided on campus and how I could potentially access it.

6. How will your visit affect your future plans? Will you apply to this campus (or one like
it)? Why or why not?

After this virtual tour, I will be applying to this campus. In a few weeks, I will be able to visit

the campus in person and confirm my interest in the school. I will also be applying to

schools similar to the University of Washington, as I can see myself enjoying the

atmosphere and the nature on campus. Additionally, I have concluded I need to do

more research in regards to the dorms on campus in order to make sure those are

accessible and enjoyable.
