LESSON 1
ACTIVITY

TASK 1. Make your own creative visual presentation of the word LANGUAGE. You
can use clip arts, photos, texts, any graphic material.
ANALYSIS

TASK 2. Describe life with language and compare it to a life without language. Do this
in no less than 3 paragraphs, with 4 sentences each.

Language is the only thing that defines us humans our ability to communicate. It is a
Necessary component of daily life and an integral part of human connection. It is a method
Of bringing people together. So, how would life be if it didn’t exist?

Anyone can make their own assumptions about where it came from. Individuals, no matter
how eloquently they use their language, are unable to pinpoint its precise origin, as well
as how it began and developed. Furthermore, I can understand the remark as implying
that, regardless of how radical language has become over the years of preservation and use,
its genesis remains a mystery.

Almost everything grew easier in life as a result of language. It enables us adapt and survive
in this ever-changing world by allowing us to express our emotions and thoughts. On the
contrary, life would be in turmoil without it, and everything would be doomed. Without it, the
world will be in the worst conceivable situation, because we are not enjoying the life we are
living right now, and we will not be able to enjoy it in the future.

TASK 3. Explain your understanding of the quote: “No matter how eloquently a dog
may bark, he cannot tell another dog that his parents were poor but honest.”- Bertrand
Russel. (2 paragraphs, 3 sentences each).

The quote, in my opinion, reveals what distinguishes humans from all other animals. As
stated in the quote, “No matter how eloquently a dog may bark, he cannot tell another dog that his
parents were poor but honest.”, it is because dogs are incapable of using language in conveying the
information they wanted to express. It's because language is a means of communicating thoughts,
feelings, and aspirations.

Anyone can make their own assumptions about where it came from. Individuals, no matter
how eloquently they use their language, are unable to pinpoint its precise origin, as well as how it began
anddeveloped. Furthermore, I can understand the remark as implying that, regardless of how radical
language has become over the years of preservation and use, its genesis remains a mystery.

TASK 1. Using a graphic organizer of your choice, illustrate how communication is
being used in your life as a student. Write a brief explanation about your graphic

ANALYSIS

TASK 2. Describe a student who has poor communication skills. What should that
student do to improve on this area? (3 paragraphs, 4 sentences each)

Being a student necessitates excellent communication skills. It is crucial for a

student's future career to be successful. A student with poor communication skills, on
the other hand, would struggle to prosper in this competitive setting. This would only
contribute to the negativity and bad performance.
If a student's communication skills are poor, he will be unable to participate
fully in class. He may have missed out on important educational opportunities. It
would have an impact on his relationships with his peers. Due to his failure to
communicate, he will be able to have his own problems.
He must begin by venturing outside of his comfort zone and doing something
he has never done before in order to better it. He needs to begin learning how to
communicate with his peers. He should then try actively participating in the teacher's
activities without fear of being wrong. With the help of these suggestions, he will be
able to improve his communication abilities.

TASK 3. Describe the WORLD without communication. (4 paragraphs, 3 sentences

each)
Communication opened the way for the world's survival. Without it, the world
would become a silent ball spinning on its axis. It can only lead to problems, a terrible
existence,.
Without it, the world would be a very different place. Other people would
not be able to interact with each other. Or, much worse, no life at all, because it is so
important to human life.
What would the world be like if we couldn't communicate with each
other? A seemingly innocuous query, but one that is well-founded. This question will
cause us to emphasize the significance of communication in the world.

Communication, as a result, should be treasured, respected, and safeguarded. It is necessary for the
world to function. It must continue to thrive since life in our world would be inconceivable without it.

ANALYSIS

TASK 2. Why do we have various forms of communication? Why should we not stick to only
one form of communication? For example: Why should we incorporate gestures and facial
expression when speaking? Instead of just standing still. (1 paragraph, 5 sentences each)

Communication comes in a variety of forms and is utilized in a range of contexts. This is

because it helps to communicate information more effectively in terms of its impact, and it is
sometimes more suitable. Other communication technologies have been created to provide
justice for physically challenged people, allowing them to speak with others despite their
constraints. Furthermore, regardlessof the manner of communication employed, its
purpose remains the same. In fact, all of these forms still allow individuals to
express their emotions, thoughts, etc.

TASK 3. How can we communicate with our brothers and sisters, fellows and friends who are
having a hard time to communicate, due to personal or physical reasons? (2 paragraphs, 3
sentences each)

Communication issues are unavoidable in life. We may encounter people who find it difficult
to communicate for personal or physical reasons, but there are alternative methods of
communication that can be used to resolve this problem. Simply put, when engaging with
someone, we must ensure that we are studying their response in order to determine how
can assess it.

We should strive to figure out how they comprehended and interpreted our words.
Furthermore, we must not behave as if we understand them when we do not. As a result,
communication would be more efficient and meaningful.

ACTIVITY

TASK 1. Look for a “meme” on Facebook or any other social media platforms and explain its
meaning or your own understanding of how the meme is used. (3 sentences for the explanation)

A sad feeling is represented in

the illustration on the left. This image
is used by netizens as they choose to
share their grief on social media sites.
They use it when they don't know
what to do and just want to sit in a
corner gazing at the distance and
thinking about nothing; they just want
their own room.

ANALYSIS

TASK 2. If you are to make your own emoji, what would it be and why? Draw it on the sheet/s
provided and discuss its meaning. Be creative! (It does not have to be an emoji of a person it
can be of a thing) (3 sentences for the explanation)

This emoji that I made is a

bit more personal for me. I’m at a
point in my life where I do not
know what is going on; I am
anxious about it. This emoji reflects
a feeling of perplexity― a state of
existence confusion yet continue to
live life.

TASK 3. Why do we have visual images? What are their purposes and functions? (4 sentences)

Visual images were created to help people absorb information more easily instead of
reading a text. It was established in order to have a greater impact on information
dissemination to individuals. Its main goal and function is to save time by relaying
information in the simplest and most effective way feasible. It also allows people to
respond fast since visual pictures entice them to do so.

LESSON 5

ACTIVITY

TASK 1. Based on your understanding, what is ETHICS? Present your answer in a creative
manner of your choice.

9 |P ag

ANALYSIS

TASK 2. Why do we have communication ethics? Explain. (2 paragraphs, 4 sentences each)

In human communication, ethical considerations may develop. It is necessary to build
communication ethics. It is a dimension that affects all participants in the communication
process, including the sender and receiver. This maintains the proper balance between the
speaker and the listener.

Furthermore it also aids in the assessment of good communication. It teaches us how to send
messages that are based on decency. It also teaches us how to respond to messages in a morally
sound manner. To summarize, it facilitates communication between two parties by providing a
basic knowledge of what is required.

TASK 3. What do you think is the lesser of these two evils—helping the guilty or punishing
the innocent? State your answers and justification. You can provide scenarios. (2 paragraphs,
5 sentences each)

In reality, a large number of people have been falsely convicted of crimes. There have
also been cases where people have been falsely convicted of crimes that they did not commit.
These were attributed to the ineptness of the judicial systems. Assisting the accused, in my
opinion, is less severe than punishing the innocent.

Punishing innocent people is the worst thing you can do. During my immersion in
the particular law firm, I attended three criminal proceedings and overheard conversations
between the lawyer and the client. While the convict was found guilty, he was given the
option of being paid in exchange for being granted parole and having his sentence reduced.
Supporting them does not make us any less of a person, as long as we do so responsibly.
