GLITTERING WORTHLESSNESS

• Memory Verse: John 5:31

Reads: If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

| Bible Passage: John 7:18

Reads: He that speaks of himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks the glory of He that sent
him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

Never lead a life of always trying to impress, those who don't believe in you will
invent new ways to doubt your credibility.

Never lead a life of always trying to impress, those who don't believe in you will invent new ways
to doubt your credibility. This is part of the attempting to become friends with the world that God
is against in James 4:4. As a matter of fact, James puts it this way
" Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world
is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of
God."

Underline the word: adultery, there. What is adultery in the biblical context? it is the leaving of a
defined spouse to the having of an affaire with an undefined opposite sex. When you are combined
with a definite identity but desire to flirt with other opportunities it is regarded by God as a
defiling of the matrimonial bed, and we know that whoremongers and adulterers God will judge
(Hebrew 13:4). Every bornagain believer is married to a destiny in Christ Jesus for it is written of
the person reading this devotional right now

"Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called,
them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
Romans 8:30

Why? for what purpose, to what end? all in all, that this may be achieved in no matter the field or
calling you are to occupy. verse 29 discloses

" For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate TO BE CONFORMED TO

THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."
To those un-bornagain, they can never be accused of adultery but whoremongering, meaning those
soliciting prostitutes, analogically it means, those wandering about life looking for whatever that
fits that they may earn a living by and, probably to term a calling on. God isn't looking for those
who define their purpose by trial and error, meaning that if they engage in this and that,
whichsoever works, they create a life by, these are those perambulating the life doctrine of
probability. God is a God of definitiveness. Everything has a definitiveness. that is why He
brought the animals that Adam may name them, that is why, He gave some, apostles; and some,
prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers, why? the Bible says, for the
perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ that
there may be order in the church. God is a God of orderliness, and definiteness of purpose is an
orderly thing. So flirting with options is a taboo with Him because He knows that there is a square
hole you are structurally designed to fill, but here are some square pegs making themselves fit into
triangular and spherical holes while God is waiting for them to come to Jesus, His Son, and begin
an adventure of a life from then onwards.

And with definiteness comes purpose over everything. Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived,
next to Jesus, had this to say after pondering on a thought one afternoon, He said, "to every thing
there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" (Ecclesiastes 3:1). it is not about
having a purpose alone, but your purpose must have a time to it, and your things must have a
season to it also. the Bible says in James 3:2,
"For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a
perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body."

Now the tongue is an entire sermon of its own, and this is a devotional, and not a full book, no
doubt there are really good books out there that will unveil much on the matter to you, but I want
to state a portion of the entire knowledge here: with your words you try too hard to make yourself
known, but that is erroneous as our Bible texts has revealed. No matter how fantastic you are,
there are people out there who'll still have an attitude. Forget it, you don't need statements to prove
credibility, let facts convince them.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, and
glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Never was it written that our words are to disclose our fantastic feats. Jesus was a man who
couldn't do much miracles in his home town due to the fact that they simply didn't believe in him
despite his miracles, and no doubt, due to that, they will probably laugh at him for His little
miracles and dismiss all his famed miracles as simple rumours. It's not about believing the LORD
your God, so shall ye be established alone, but there needs to be a believing his prophets, to
initiate a process called "prosperity" in the already establishment God has established you. (2
Chronicles 20:20). Never impress, those who don't believe in you will always invent new ways to
doubt your credibility. You may be heavily anointed with millions calling your line for prayer
request and healing decrees, and yet your uncle's wife is telling your uncle to make you go wash
the plates after a one week visit, even when children far younger than you are there; and yet your
church departmental unit head is sending you ridiculous errands; and yet your boss is making your
life miserable, despite the fact that he was falling under the anointing through your laying on of
hands last Sunday. Raising of the dead didn't stop Judas from selling Jesus for a few coins, so
forget it about impressing people.

"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness
of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:20

The Pharisees were hated by Jesus for always making a public display of their religious piety.
Even though you don't mean any evil, and you just simply want people to see you for what you've
become, it is enmity with God. Jesus walked in the spirit. We who are his followers are also
exhorted to walk in the spirit. (Gal. 5:16.) In verses 19 to 21 are listed the works of the flesh,
which are not present in the lives of those who walk in the Spirit. Those who do such things are
not walking in his steps who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. Paul exhorts us to
"Put off the old man (or, works of the flesh) with his deeds," and "put on the NEW MAN, which is
renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." (Colossians. 3:9-10)

"If any man will come after me, let him DENY HIMSELF, and take up his cross daily,
and follow me."
(Luke 9:23).

The path Jesus walked and triumphed in is that path of self denial. Disregarding self importance
before people. Why will you want someone else to believe in you to feel worthwhile when you've
already believed in yourself? Self will rejoice that it has been seen taking this sacrificial hour, and
how well his neighbors will think of him. I assure you, it is better to have people say, "That person
is operating with the power of God and His anointing is working with them. The sick are healed,
the lame walk, the dumb speak, and the blind see when they pray," than to have people say, "That
fellow sure is a pious person. He fasts three days of the week. He has completed a twenty one day
fast, and is even now in the tenth day of a forty day fast." Some fine people have been misled into
wasted time and sacrifice, which brought no good to anyone because they became puffed up and
did their fasting with a spirit of boastfulness. It is Satan’s business to spoil all that we try to do
for God. Let us be watchful in this matter, or else he will make useless one of our most effective
weapons, the weapon of self denial through public display.
