Dear Ana,

I went to the doctor today. He looked into my eyes and said they
looked good. You know I have been having headaches and trouble seeing. He
said he thought it was stress. When I told him about my chest pains, he was a
little worried. He said when that happens I should take some aspirin and put
my feet up. He said he would do some tests. Sometimes, my head hurts so
bad that my stomach starts to give me trouble too. I’m not very worried.

How are your back and neck? I hope you are doing better. I know
how bad it is to have back problems. Have you talked to a doctor?

Well, write me and tell me how you are doing.

Love,

Patricia

B. Listen to the conversations and mark the correct column.

Conversation 1
A: Hello, Mrs. Johnson. What seems to be the problem?
B: I have a terrible sore throat. I can’t swallow very well at all.
A: Well let’s take a look. Open up and say ah.

Conversation 2
A: Mr. Nguyen, you tell me that you can’t sleep at night.
B: Yes doctor, I have headaches every night.
A: Are you taking medication?
B: I take a few aspirin before I go to bed.

Conversation 3
A: Doctor, you have got to help me. Every time I eat chocolate, I get an awful stomachache that
doesn’t go away for 24 hours.
B: You probably have an allergy. You should stop eating chocolate.
A: Stop eating chocolate? Is that possible?

Conversation 4
A: Alfredo, can you help me move to a new house?
B: I would love to but I get backaches a lot. I can help you organize things, though.
A: Okay. Thank you. And don’t worry. I won’t ask you to do anything too hard.
