My future

I believe high school is the time where you can start introducing yourself to new
careers in order to get prepped for the real world once you graduate high school and fly as an
independent person. Since my ideal plan is to move to japan after high school, I plan to major in
criminology. At Maryknoll high school, there are several different extra-curricular classes that
we can take, to introduce us a little bit about what criminal law / forensics will be like. In that
class we get to do investigative labs, learn new vocabularies on what forensics really is, learn the
techniques as well as solve who committed homicide, we even use real tools and what
not. It’s important to understand what you enjoy, and what you’re good at. when I’m trying to
figure out what I want to do in college, I tell myself “, If you don’t know what you want to do,
the question is, ‘What do you like to learn about?’

I also believed that completing an internship is a really good way to get experience.
although they are temporary, supervised assignments designed to give students or recent
graduates practical job training, sometimes internships or other experiential learning are great
ways to stay motivated and engaged. My dad’s a forensic clinical psychologist so he has many
connections with assistance, teachers, as well as court judges, investigative FBI’s and even
prison guards, oh and let’s not forget mental patients. What I’m trying to get at is, he allows me
to legally go to his evaluations and offices to see what him and the investigators see and talk
about, although they might not always be 100% real, seeing the protocols and what they have
to do every day is amazing. 12-18 hours of work and investigating a day, to be honest the things
I see sometimes aren’t normal for people my age, but that’s part of being forensics
psychologist’s daughter as well as next gen. forensics investigator.

After doing the ikigai worksheet, I learned a lot of myself now that I’m able to really see the
good aspects written down. The thing I wrote down was that there are many aspects that I would
say I’m good at. With everything that I do, I am committed as well as loyal. I would never try to
hurt someone unless it’s the right thing to do, or if they hurt me or break a code. I’m also very
creative. I know how to be a critical thinker and problem solve when something happens not
accordingly. I also love to be a leader and take initiative for the leader role. it’s a good feeling
when I’m able to come up with bright, creative ideas, I’m able to turn any idea into a reality. I
believe that my skills help reflect well when it’s time to apply to colleges. I’m also
very intellectually curious as well as me having a good judgement. like I said I’m an
observer, I don’t trust easily but once I get to know and learn about people, I’m a really good
friend/teammate.
