Evaluation:

Based on the topic on this chapter , how the following events affects Rizal ideals
on his concept of a nation. Write your answer in a paragraph form. Cavite Mutiny-
Secularization movement- Execution of Gomburza -

Solidarity is one of the reason to show love for the country, it

symbolizes the unity of one nation to fight their rights and freedom together.
During the Spanish conquest, the Indios or Filipinos showed many heroic deeds to
combat the abuses of the Spaniards and show unconditional love for the country.

I can say that one of the worst events in the Philippine history are the
Cavite Mutiny and the execution of Gomburza. During this time the Filipinos
experienced hardship and discrimination against Spaniards, discrimination during
secularization due to objections of the Regular priests for Secular priests to lead
the Parishes and injustice movements of Spaniards which caused the Cavite
Mutiny to happen, many Filipinos suffered and were sentenced to death because
of the movements that took place in Cavite then that turn to accused and
execution of the three priests who are Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto
Zamora. Because of the injustices that the Spaniards showed before, many
movements took place then to try to prevent the injustices things that were
happening then. Because of these events that show injustice and heartlessness,
Rizal was persuaded to write his famous work El Filibusterismo to show and
expose the heartlessness of the Spaniards. This became the way to educate and
enlighten Filipinos against the Spaniards, this was also the signal of Rizal in his
concept of nation to fight and revolt against the Spanish because of the abuses of
the Spanish and to encourage every Filipino to unite against the Spaniards.
 Because of the courage shown by Rizal and the Filipinos then, the
Filipinos became free from the hands of Spaniards that even what happened to
him was the same as in GOMBURZA the execution where he was inspired to write
the El Filibusterismo. This is the reason why Rizal is our national hero because of
his love for our country.
